Loving attending the MetaMask Community Builder Night in Nairobi! 🇰🇪 Amazing to see artists(Musicians) thriving in Web3 alongside devs.
Even cooler that it was hosted at Homeboyz Institute of Technology a legendary radio station turned tech hub that's actually listed on the Kenyan stock exchange! 📈 So glad to be part of these conversations, and I can’t wait to see these kinds of incredible collaborations happen in Ethiopia next. 🇪🇹

Happy Bitcoin Pizza Day! 🍕
Exactly 16 years ago today, on May 22, 2010, a programmer bought two pizzas for 10,000 BTC, marking the first-ever real-world crypto transaction. What was worth just $41 back then represents hundreds of millions of dollars today, serving as the ultimate milestone for the global Web3 movement.
This year, the celebration has taken a major local turn, being observed by tech enthusiasts and Web3 communities across several parts of Ethiopia. From developer hubs in Addis Ababa to growing tech collectives in regional cities, local builders came together over a slice to honor the global culture taking root within our borders.
For our ecosystem, Pizza Day is a powerful reminder of how far digital assets have come from a niche internet experiment. As we count down to Ethiopia Blockchain Week, seeing the community actively celebrate this history shows we are fully aligned with the global momentum driving this technology forward.

Big Moves are Happening for East Africa’s Web3 Scene
The momentum for blockchain in Ethiopia is getting impossible to ignore. Global Web3 platforms, institutional investors, and policymakers are officially converging on Addis Ababa for the upcoming AfroChain Summit 2026
The focus is shifting heavily toward practical infrastructure. With the country's recent forex reforms and the ongoing roll-out of Digital Ethiopia 2030, the event is stepping up as the main gateway for cross-border capital, AI integration, and blockchain development in East Africa.
Instead of just talking about the theoretical future of tech, the discussions are centering on real-world use cases that fit our market like decentralized finance, smart contract solutions, and local Web3 entrepreneurship.
Having massive regional platforms choose Addis Ababa to connect global builders with local talent shows exactly where the ecosystem is heading. The foundation is being laid right now, and the next few months are going to be massive for the local tech community.

And that’s a wrap on @KBCC_01 (KBCC2026!) 🇰🇪✨
Day 2 the conversations shifted from ideas to execution.
Between the masterclasses on compliance, the brilliant panels on blockchain adoption, and the endless networking, one thing is crystal clear: the future of Web3 is being built right here in East Africa.
A major highlight was seeing strong representation from government officials and leaders from the Capital Markets Authority. Engaging with regulators who are actively championing blockchain adoption and working to create a supportive framework for digital assets gives us massive confidence in the future of the ecosystem.
We are leaving Nairobi feeling incredibly inspired by the builders, innovators, and policy-shapers we shared the space with over the last two days. The connections made here are going to carry us far into the next chapter of Africa's digital story.
Thank you to the organizers, speakers, and everyone who made this event unforgettable. Until next time! 🚀

Holy shit 😳
AI Just Found a $400,000 Lost Fortune
It’s actually true A story is going viral right now (May 2026) about a guy who used Claude AI to recover a Bitcoin wallet he hadn't been able to touch for 9 years
Inside? 5 BTC, currently worth about $400,000
The owner @cprkrn had changed his password years ago while in college and completely forgot it He spent nearly a decade trying everything running over 3.5 trillion password combinations using professional recovery tools and nothing worked.
In a last-ditch effort, he uploaded 1GB of data from his old college computer and notebooks into Claude.
Claude didn't hack Bitcoin Instead it acted like a super-detective It sifted through years of old files, emails, and notes to find a specific, older version of the wallet file that predated the password change.
It even found a bug in the code of the recovery software he was using and fixed it so the decryption would finally work.
Crazy things happen everyday, you just need to be alive to witness all🔥

@Crypt0_Yoda There’s really no better way to see a city than with locals... I was incredibly confused last time I tried to visit a new city alone
English

Story time.
5 days ago while I was walking in the beautiful Harar, I met a young kid who was curious cause I was recording with my camera.
I came to find out he's the son of the guy who tames the hyenas. The kid(Amar) saw me when I was feeding the hyenas and said he could tell I was scared of them😭.
Soon his brother(Abdu) came to us and they said they can show me around. We walked for hours around Harar that night and I saw some beautiful sights. Then we ate dinner and told them we should meet up the next day.
On Sunday we went up the hill to the big HARAR sign and went skating after. I could easily say I enjoyed Harar because of them.
If you're going to a new city, eat with someone you don't know.

🤝France Ethiopia and France Boost Digital and Energy Ties
Ethiopia and France have officially signed a major cooperation agreement today to modernize our national electricity grid and push our digital transformation forward.
The deal, valued at €54.6 million, is part of a larger European Union-backed program. The focus is on automating power substations, improving grid management, and upgrading the systems at our National Grid Control Centre. By modernizing this aging infrastructure, the project aims to reduce power outages significantly and expand electricity access to millions of people.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and President Emmanuel Macron oversaw the signing at the National Palace in Addis Ababa. Beyond the energy grid, the two leaders visited the Ethiopia Science Museum to discuss deeper cooperation in technology and innovation.
For the tech and Web3 community, these kinds of infrastructure deals are important. Stable energy and modernized digital systems are the foundation for any serious digital economy. It’s encouraging to see this kind of investment aimed at making our grid more reliable, which will eventually support the growth of the tech hubs and startups we are building.
