I discovered Picks two days ago and, like any football fan, I had to check it out.
I love the sport, but I never thought I was good enough to place bets.

If you’re anything like me, you love making calls on your favorite teams or players, but you’re tired of using platforms that look like they were built in the 90s.
I’ve been testing out @PicksdotApp lately, and honestly, it’s a total vibe. Most sites are so clunky, but this web app is actually clean and super easy to navigate. I hopped in with 1000$ to see what’s up and even though my first cricket prediction flopped (standard luck for me 😂), I’m already deep into my next lineup.
What I actually like is that you aren't just picking a winning team. You can get specific on player stats like goals, assists, or shots which makes watching the game way more intense, with some :
• Smoothest UI No lag, just quick picks.
• The Upside you can hit up to 30x on your stakes.
• The Grind I'm locking in daily lineups now to climb the leaderboard for those rewards.

מי שלא חי במציאות מדומה מבין שלארה״ב אין קלפים בשרוול.
המצור האמריקני הוא אחלה, אבל הוא לא משחרר ממצור איראני את שאר מדינות המפרץ.
כמה זמן האיראנים ישרדו ככה? יותר מאשר ארה״ב.
לופטהנזה למשל כבר מבטלת 20,000 טיסות בגלל מחסור בדלק סילוני וכבר מורגש מחסור פיזי ושלל בעיות לוגיסטיקה.
אם ארה״ב לא תיכנס פנימה ותאבטח מיכליות של מדינות המפרץ תוך כדי מצור אקטיבי על איראן, זה לא יעבוד.
ואת כל זה משיגים האיראנים עם 2 קלפים ביד בלבד- הורמוז ותקיפת מתקני אנרגיה של השכנות.

i didn't plan on starting something new this soon.
closed my last venture at the end of 2025 and was expecting to take some time off.
but after a few weeks, i kept coming back to the same problem space around sports and crypto. and i'm glad to share that i've decided to go all in on it.

This post is broadly correct but great teams still can raise at high val. The venture market is focusing on more cefi meets defi and institutional angles so great founders in other niches might have a more difficult time to raise.

Deals are being pushed rather than dug out. Inbound if people know you have money is at an all-time high. Most firms are either 1) Out of money 2) Moved to Series A and beyond or 3) Fundraising (with no success). Deals that used to close in 2-3 weeks now close in 2-3 months. Firms with questionable business models or copy pasta of the latest trend are getting zero primary or follow-on funding (Good news!). There are now realistically <20 firms writing checks in pre-seed/seed. VCs basically have the pick of any deal they want, with more time to do DD. IMHO 25/26 are going to be historic vintages for those who stick around.

Q1 2026 was the busiest quarter for @VarrockVC as we made 3 new investments.
Normally it's 0 to 1 new investments per quarter (small concentrated portfolio).
Bear markets self select for better quality founders who stick around.
