I’ve heard two points that make sense. 1) VAR technology isn’t accurate when dealing with two moving humans at the precision level it displays. So these overrides are not based on definitive info, in which case call on the field should stand. 2) scoring is so difficult that offsides rules should be loosened. This isn’t related to VAR but I agree with the point.
