MIT engineers have developed “mini livers” that could be injected into the body and take over the functions of the failing liver. This would help patients who are on a waitlist for a liver transplant or those who aren’t healthy enough to tolerate surgery.

What if those allies no longer want or need them?

Google just dropped Gemma 4. Chinese models are proving you can run extremely powerful frontier AI locally with the kind of data privacy companies and individuals dream of.
Apple, which barely invested any capex in the AI boom outside its own chips, is suddenly looking like a major winner.
Meanwhile Anthropic is refusing to release its next model because its own employees think it’s “too powerful” and are having collective delusions that it’s somehow alive.
