The $12 voucher was a nice gesture when the 1hr layover turned into 5hr layover, but that doesn't even cover one of the books I end up buying in the bookstore trying to kill time

Graham Helton (too much for zblock)
I'm literally begging people to start collecting, curating, and reading RSS feeds to get a good pulse in what's going on in the industry. There is no better concentrated source of information than a well curated RSS feed.

#ClaudeForBlueTeam - Day 8! Have Claude give you a daily briefing of key events in your network based off SIEM queries. Use hooks and have the summary automatically generated for you when Claude starts. Scheduled SIEM searches are cool, this is a bit cooler 😎

2026 is the year SOCs move from AI copilots to autonomous agents. The gap between experimenting and deploying is closing fast. The difference is not incremental. A copilot waits to be asked. An agent plans, executes, and adapts across the full triage, investigation, and response lifecycle without waiting for a human to kick it off. In practice that means: Attack Discovery correlating isolated signals into a full attack chain before your analysts start searching. Agents autonomously enriching detections, querying DNS logs, checking firewall traffic, confirming verdicts. Cases created, MITRE mapped, stakeholders notified. All before you've had your coffee.

We have more AI slop SOC2 reports and more AI slop legal filings and I doubt we will see any significant actions by the body is charged with governing both of those areas which will of course lead to more of this Revoke licenses, issue crushing fines against the organizations AND individuals, or the trust of licensed professions will continue to erode

I’m not pushed over completely to this position yet, but as the speed and complexity of environments and attacks continue to accelerate I’m more and more believing the entire compliance complex has done more harm than good when it comes to security results A persistent issue is that people view these compliance benchmarks as the goal rather than the low watermark or the starting point

I spent my normal whiskey/cigar break thinking and reading and counting how many configuration "switches" are available when you are a firm like Stryker. 36,000 to 45,000 config settings And that's before you count the permutations. You think a spreadsheet and a quarterly review covers it?

A rule that will accelerate your career: If you bring a problem, bring context. If you bring context, bring options. If you bring options, bring a recommendation. People trust people who help them think. Anyone can spot an issue, few can actually help move things forward.

What I’m realizing is 99.9999999999999999999999999% of AI posts are from people that are trying to get more followers and clicks and has no real world experience on actually deploying. “Improve your workflow 80% by this one Claude skill” “Omg they just released this and it changes the industry completely” It’s all bogus. Create your own workflow that is tailored to you. Don’t buy into this garbage.
