Yongbeom (YB) Kim, CEO of Hashed's think tank, Hashed Open Research, has been appointed Chief Policy Officer at Korea's Presidential Office. Since founding Hashed Open Research, YB Kim has significantly contributed to blockchain and cryptocurrency research, actively influencing policy developments domestically and internationally. He previously served as Vice Minister at Korea's Ministry of Economy and Finance during the 2017 - 2022 administration, successfully leading crisis management and stabilization policies within the cryptocurrency industry. As the inaugural Chief Policy Officer for President Lee Jae-myung's administration, he is expected to play a pivotal role in advancing blockchain and Web3 initiatives, including fostering crypto-friendly policies and introducing a Korean Won-based stablecoin.
