If we haven’t met before… I’m matt - grew up in a small farm town in VA - started dancing at age 17 - made a youtube channel in 2007 - moved to LA to pursue dance & DJ’n - got rejected from every agency, went broke - hit 3m subs, but record labels blocked my vids - started a new channel over at zero - got my first 50m view video in 2014 - performed on the Ellen show & step up - danced for taylor swift & jason derulo - channel hit 5m subscribers - found out my manager was stealing from me - danced w snoop dogg, lil wayne & tyga - won the AMAZING RACE and got $500k - california took most of it in taxes - put most of it into crypto in 2017 - 7x’d before crashing in 2018, but never sold - youtube channel hits 10m subs - monetization removed for dancing to music - covid hits and im full time in crypto 2020-22 - got early into beeple, bayc & neotokyo - round tripped a lot of bs tokens & nft’s - market crashed, covid ended, never sold - tik tok takes over and I master short form - was posting 5 dance videos a day - channel hit 14m but I became depressed - felt like a slave to the algorithm - took my 17 years of content xp to web3 - started advising for top web3 projects - started Simplified w my brother Sam - DJ’d for Forbes, magic eden, pudgy, abstract - finally found a home here in web3 If you’re here, I’m grateful for you.
