New on our Frontier Red Team blog: We tested whether AIs can exploit blockchain smart contracts. In simulated testing, AI agents found $4.6M in exploits. The research (with @MATSprogram and the Anthropic Fellows program) also developed a new benchmark: red.anthropic.com/2025/smart-con…

Write circuit in @NoirLang, compile it to a Cairo verifier contract, deploy to @Ztark_Labs. Proofs are generated off-chain, then verified on-chain to preserve privacy. Finally, Ztarknet batches up the transaction proofs recursively and submits them to Zcash. Probably nothing 😉
Starknet (Privacy arc) 🥷@Starknet

The Zypherpunk Hackathon is running with $35k up for grabs in the Starknet track. Your mission? Help build Ztarknet, the L2 built on top of Zcash. This workshop walks you through everything: from Cairo + Noir, to Garaga integration, to deploying your first private dapp.

Vitalik: "it's very difficult to be both the best L2 and the best ZK team, the two are very different skill sets." StarkWare: "Hold my beer!" Seriously how you can say all of this and not mention the literal only team in the world that has those very different skill sets. The team that literally built everything from scratch for years, while constantly pushing the state of the art. While everyone was taking shortcuts, or trying indeed as you said to focus on one or another, and while all of them could reuse a lot of existing infrastructure. We could not and did not want to. Simply because we wanted to build for the long run, we wanted to build with the most future proof architecture, and keep full sovereignty on our roadmap to execute faster. It was a huge initial investment, but yeah, was worth it. Now that we have those extremely solid foundations and that we demonstrated the excellence on both parts, the world will start to understand the power of Starknet engine. Ultimate scaling engine, to bring maximal integrity of computation, while keep succint verification. Imagine when this engine also provides privacy, but that's a story for another day. Anyway, sad to see this permanent hypocrisy and denial growing in the Ethereum ecosystem. I said few weeks ago that we scare them, yeah, I do believe we do. Not only because we love Bitcoin and want to contribute to hyperbitcoinization of the world, but also because Starknet has it's own identity, culture and ecosystem of people. It goes beyond the tech only. Anyway, Starknet will melt faces.
vitalik.eth@VitalikButerin

I really appreciate both @sandeepnailwal's personal contributions and @0xPolygon's immensely valuable role in the ethereum ecosystem. To recap: * Polygon hosts @Polymarket, which is probably the single most successful example of a "not just boring finance" app that has actually been successful and provided value. * Polygon has also hosted plenty of other applications that have needed high levels of scalability. * Polygon put a lot of resources into ZK-EVM proving early on, both by bringing in Jordi Baylina's team and through other efforts, and greatly helped in moving the space forward. * Polygon has built infrastructure for proof aggregation (AggLayer) and many other things And also: * Sandeep put a lot of his personal effort into @CryptoRelief_, which has made large contributions to biomedical infrastructure and research inside India. * He voluntarily returned $190M of proceeds from the SHIB tokens that I donated to me, which has made the whole Balvi open source anti-airborne-disease biotech program possible, and possibly accelerated our understanding of important anti-pandemic topics like clean indoor air by years. @cz_binance also recently donated $10M in BNB to me to help continue the program, and I've recently added ~$20M of my own funds (no, not from selling ETH 😛) Big appreciation to both for this. Most whales passively think that things like this are cool, but are not willing to get off their butts and personally contribute, unless it's in the form of a company that keeps everything proprietary to become yet another vehicle for personal profit. @sandeepnailwal (and CZ) are special here. On the ZK issue (after all, you do need a proof system to get the full security guarantees that L2s are meant to provide), I can see Polygon's difficult bind: they supported Jordi's team putting their heart and souls into the tech at a time when that tech was still too early for production, and so they contributed to the early and most difficult part of the learning curve, but at that part of the learning curve it was difficult for them themselves to directly benefit from the fruits of their labor. Since then, the market structure has split into L2 teams and ZK teams (eg. @SuccinctLabs, @RiscZero, more recently @brevis_zk, many others) being separate entities, which I think makes more sense than the previous approach of every L2 doing (OP or ZK) proof systems in-house: it's very difficult to be both the best L2 and the best ZK team, the two are very different skill sets. Personally, I hope that at some point soon @0xPolygon can just pick up off the shelf ZK tech that has now gotten quite good and apply it to the PoS chain to get full stage 1 and later stage 2 guarantees from the ethereum L1. Many don't realize just how much ZK tech has improved; proving costs are around $0.0001/tx, and many L2s I talk to are very surprised when I tell them the recent numbers, they're still stuck in the mindset that ZK is maybe ok for ethereum L1-scale chains but unviable for anything hyperscale. The latest ZK-EVMs, and live projects like @Lighter_xyz, show that this is false.

The way to Starknet Privacy Chain
Eli Ben-Sasson | Starknet.io@EliBenSasson

Privacy, privacy, privacy: Everyone now is a Privacy expert. Great! So... Let me explain a few things, as someone who's spent quite a lot of time thinking about privacy, and building stuff that's actually used in the world (not just in tweets or academic papers 🙂). There are all kinds of privacy, and they don't all look the same, feel the same, or work the same. Here's an explanation on what's easy, what's hard, and what's the right way to get privacy done. What's easy: Creating ZK proofs for various transactions is easy (thank you StarkWare). You can't yet create ZK proofs on standard hardware wallets, but you can create them on phones and laptops and desktops. Important: Generating a ZK proof, or a bunch of them, doesn't mean yet you have *real* privacy. For that, you need more, and you need everyone to use what you've built, because if you're the only one using it, you get no privacy. What's (really really really) hard: UX. Achieving privacy with UX that will be smooth and intuitive enough to make it easy for you, me, your mom, and your friends to use is really really really hard . In the tradfi world that's really easy, because the model is different: Your tradfi buddy (the bank, typically) opens an encrypted channel with you, and you tell it privately everything, and the bank keeps that stuff secret. But in the decentralized world you don't have a buddy you can whisper secrets to. So if you want privacy, you need everything to be built for that. And here's the problem: The existing infra of blockchain is not privacy-compatible. Starting with Bitcoin, it's all out there in the open. This means that the standards and the tools and the wallets and the exchanges are all built for stuff that everyone sees. If you're building something that's private, it means that all the existing infrastructure stops working. No hardware wallets, with hard time getting exchanges to work with it, no block explorers, etc. It becomes really hard for your mom and friends to use it. So no one uses it, and the few who do use it, don't get much privacy. You've made it this far! You get a prize: The solution 🗝️ So what can be done? The truth is that the best path forward on privacy is to compromise a bit. Meaning, that in order to offer good UX, the privacy you'll get won't be airtight. So you'll get a certain level of privacy, it won't be airtight, but it'll be easier to use for your mom and friends. There are quite a few solutions that offer tradeoffs between privacy and usability, and many of them exist today, first and best on Starknet/StarkWare. I'll give a few examples: * Validium - is a way to build things that are 100% smooth and standard from the users point of view, but the stuff that goes on the blockchain is known only to your buddy (the operator, like the bank). As opposed to the bank, your buddy -- the operator -- in this case, cannot steal your money because ZK STARK proofs bind him to operate with integrity. * shielded ERC20s - these are account based, not UTXO based, and only blind the amounts being sent around, not the payer and payee. So folks can see who you're sending to and receiving from, but no one knows how much you're sending. It's not as airtight as a Zcash transaction, but it allows for smoother UX, and even allows you easy composability with a lot of DeFi apps. Summarizing: Privacy is needed. Creating ZK is by now not the hard part. The hard part is getting your mom and friends to be able to transact privately and smoothly on the blockchain. We're not there yet. But stay tuned. The END

GitHub:github.com/samhenrigold/L… 当然了,大家也可以发挥自己的创意,利用这一 API 实现更加有趣的小应用。 目前作者确定在 M4 MacBook Pro 电脑上运行正常,有 iOS 编程基础的同学可通过 Xcode 进行编译。
