@1cRebeca sometimes, the cognitive dissonance between the requirements of our field and that of the human-compatible life conditions are quite striking. (not picking on you per se, just a general disheartened comment.)

@1cRebeca we probably won't even "run 20 more years" if we don't pull our a***s and *work* on establishing a society that is really fighting against climate change.

So the Chamonix timeline has me quite worried, I of course had heard of it but until now it wasn't really "official". Running 20 more years at basically the same energy feels really difficult to get excited. People: convince me that this is a good thing...

My twitter timeline is SO full of ads these days. Max number of real human tweets before I get to an ad/ promoted tweet = 4. And if I click on a thread, there's inevitably an ad in the second reply's spot. Ugh.

Ok Twitter is officially broken. This morning my TL is filled with press release from certified accounts, mostly entities, few humans. Boring. Not sure why I bother writing this as it will not be seen.

Reminder that if someone tells you they have "preserved" their results by serializing them using Python's pickle, run away.
