Most STRC DAT yield is fake. Not in a scammy way, but in a "diluted OR concentrated before it reaches you" way. Yield gets generated by the STRC portion of reserves, then split across whoever is staked. How to evaluate STRC DAT yields, using Apyx ( @apyx_fi ) as an example👇 — 1. Collateralization and Reserve composition Apyx sits at 100.89% per the new transparency dashboard built by @AccountableData. Total reserves: $206.43M: - $ 110M STRC (53.5%) - $80.8M cash & equity (43.76%) - $2.71M SATA (2.85%, functions similarly to STRC) That $ 110M STRC backing equals 78% of apxUSD's $142.88M supply (as of April 24). For comparison, Saturn sits at 61.8% STRC backing on sUSDat. More STRC in reserves = more yield generated for stakers. — 2. Two-token mechanics Apyx uses the Ethena-style two-token model (think USDe/sUSDe): - apxUSD as the non-yield bearing stablecoin - apyUSD as the yield-bearingstablecoin Yield from reserves flows only to apyUSD stakers, and only about 60% of apxUSD supply is staked into apyUSD. Fewer stakers = bigger yield slice for apyUSD stakers — 3. Apyx APY evaluation Roughly 11% more APY for apyUSD stakers vs other STRC-backed stables like Saturn, driven by yield mechanism structure and amount of STRC backing: > Apyx: 10.69% APY (78% STRC backing + concentrated yield with 60% staked) > Saturn: 9.7% APY (61.8% STRC backing + 38.2% T-Bills) In Apyx's model, the STRC backing apxUSD also contributes yield to apyUSD stakers. So before you decide to start farming on any of these, make sure you understand the underlying collateral, risk, and yield distribution system. NFA. DYOR.
