WORM is nice, but really, the main building block here is BETH. BETH itself is nothing more than an ERC-20 token that can be minted by proving that you burned ETH, sometime, somewhere!
You don't need to show the ERC-20 contract where or by which account you actually performed that burn. You only provide a zero-knowledge proof to convince the contract that it really happened, and the contract will mint an equal amount of BETH tokens for you.
Now here is the twist: if a BETH/ETH market exists, you can actually sell the BETH you just minted and get back ETH. This makes the whole BETH idea a really nice EIP-7503-style privacy system, with an ultra-large anonymity set from day one.
But there is a difficult problem: how do we ensure there is demand for BETH?
We address this with WORM, a secondary hard-capped ERC-20 token with a Bitcoin-like mining system fueled by BETH (instead of electricity). However, WORM does not necessarily have to be the only project utilizing BETH.
Our vision is to promote BETH as infrastructure so that new projects can grow on top of it. The most obvious idea right now is using BETH as proof-of-burn mining fuel. Developers can build WORM-like cryptoassets with different emission algorithms, marketing strategies, and potentially novel ideas.
If you think BETH may have other use cases, please share them with us, we’re happy to help you make them happen!

1/7 $worm is a direct way to capture onchain privacy demand > ICO in 4d $eth gets burned = gone tx looks completely normal, that’s the trick > nothing screams privacy @EIP7503 is the only protocol enabling this, huge unlock for big wallets who dont want to signal privacy use 🧵

The DRAFT version of the accumulated testnet rewards is now available! 🪱
You can take a look and get a sense on how the final testnet reward list will look like. 📜

⚠️PLEASE BEWARE, SINCE THIS IS ONLY A DRAFT THERE MIGHT BE SMALL (OR EVEN SIGNIFICANT) CHANGES IN THE NUMBERS BEFORE MAINNET!⚠️

Dear WORM Family,
We’re just two days away from launching the Mainnet, and this is a huge moment for us. It marks a major milestone on our path to delivering the first plausibly deniable privacy solution on Ethereum.
We can’t thank all of you enough for the support you’ve shown us. Whether you took part in our testnets, donated ETH to help keep the development moving forward, spread the word, joined our ICO, or contributed in any other way, WORM is here because of this incredible community.
As we’ve shared before, our initial tokenomics model included an immediate TGE release, along with a cliff and vesting structure. This means some tokens will be unlocked at the Mainnet launch, and the rest will be distributed over time.
We’re happy to say that our ICO exceeded expectations, especially considering the current market conditions. That said, we believe it’s important to approach token distribution with care and a focus on long-term sustainability. Keeping WORM stable and ensuring a healthy market environment are top priorities for us.
With that in mind, we’ve adjusted the timing for the release of the TGE portion of the token allocations as follows:
Updated Distribution Schedule
* ICO Participants: February 23, 2:00 PM UTC (right after Mainnet launch)
* Juicebox Donators: 20% of rewards released on March 2, 2:00 PM UTC
* Testnet Users: 50% of rewards released on March 9, 2:00 PM UTC
* Community Airdrops: 100% of rewards released on March 16, 2:00 PM UTC
All other allocations will follow the original vesting schedule.
We know how important it is to keep things transparent and predictable, and this adjustment is made with the long-term health of the ecosystem in mind. Our goal is still the same: to build a sustainable, privacy-focused infrastructure that delivers real value.
Thank you for your trust and support. We truly appreciate your belief in WORM.
The journey is only just beginning.
