This is classic 'get the Christians onboard' by claiming to quote the Old Testament - which also a joke in that it is not 'history', but a means to sell a 'God's Chosen' narrative to anyone naive enough to believe it. The real question is did even 'ancient Israel' exist - certainly not in the way the Old Testament describes in a series of blatantly made-up stories.
