Blame Tinubu for the comparison. As bad as Buhari was, few people mentioned him in the same breath as Abacha. Buhari didn’t attack the idea of Democracy as brazenly as Tinubu has. Only two people in the history of Nigeria has ever bent democracy out of shape as Abacha and Tinubu have. Yes, there were coupists who didn’t make any pretensions about democracy and then there’s Tinubu and Abacha who dress up autocracy as democracy. Who seized power and seek to maintain it outside the people’s vote. Irrespective of the people’s will. Power based on the destruction of the opposition and the instruments of state. Abacha was a soldier and he took the lives of opposition leaders. Yes, he would have done worse had he lived and that made him deplorable. But Abacha would not have stood by or be doing politics while tens of thousands of Nigerians are killed up and down the country. Tinubu has. Net result? Terror in the land. Abacha will actively take the life of people. Tinubu will stand idly by as 1000 times more lives than Abacha ever took are destroyed for reasons I dear not speculate. Both require the thirst for power so complete that empathy is as far from them as East is from the West. So yes, Abacha’s name was a a terror. It seemed most acute if not entirely amongst the elite in the corridors of power. In Lagos and Abuja the fear was real and challenging that man could be a death sentence. In the case of Tinubu, the entire country where he has seized power is a terror for millions of people men, women children. Old, young poor. The terror has diffused. And what are his preoccupations? Actively destroying every institution by which the State might protect its citizens. Every guardrail is being broken down by Tunubu as Abacha attempted before him. The tools maybe different, but the results will be the same. And yet Tinubu claimed he was fighting Abacha because of the ideals of democracy - the govt of the people, for the people and by the people. What an absolute laugh! The irony needs to be called out more, not less.

The day news of General Sani Abacha’s death broke, the entire country jubilated. Beyond his death in 1998, 🇳🇬 emerged from its dystopian era. The fear of mentioning his name in an Elelenwo beer parlor in port harcourt was a conscious feeling. Do your politics, but be sincere.🙏🏾

@ChuksEricE Their are lots of factors that you need to consider before saying this, people who really want to help will not do so cos, firstly helping an accident victim to hospital is very risky, hospital will ask for police report, if anything happen to the victim police will pin it on u

As a man, from the moment you’re born, the world is already stacked against you. Look at this. The young man proved beyond reasonable doubt that the seat was his, his things were right there. But instead of anyone telling the girl to get up, instead of a single person stepping in to calm things down or speak up for what’s right… they just sat there. Laughing. That’s what hurts the most. They weren’t waiting to help. They were waiting for him to react. Waiting for him to raise his voice, lose his temper so they could finally point fingers. Not at the girl who took his seat. At him. Always at him. Nobody asks what pushed him. Nobody cares about the root cause. Just the reaction. Whoever said “To be a man is not easy” wasn’t just talking. That person had lived it. Felt it. Carried it. Because being a man means the world watches you struggle and calls it entertainment.

Some restaurant and bar managers don’t know how to satisfy or properly treat customers. Some guys went to a lounge to swim and drink, and they went there with their Igbo. When they arrived, they were about to start smoking when one of the attendants told them that smoking wasn’t allowed on the premises. One of the guys pleaded with her to allow him smoke the one he had already rolled, since he had ordered food and said he wouldn’t be able to eat without smoking first. She agreed, but warned him not to let the manager see him, then she left. Unknown to them, the manager had already noticed them from afar and went ahead to call the police to arrest the guys. I’m still confused, why would a lounge manager treat customers like that? You can tell them to leave but why call for their arrest?

Why would you arrest someone because they are smoking in a bar/ lounge. It doesn’t make sense to me.

Trending Story: In 2010 Togo’s team was ambushed; 3 killed incl. their coach and 9 critically injured. — CAF fined & suspended Togo for 2 tournaments. At the Angola 2010 AFCON, Togo was heading to their hotel when a separatist group attacked their bus and shot at it for 30 minutes with machine guns, around Cabinda. Unfortunately, the bullet killed the assistant coach, the media officer and the bus driver. Nine players and staff were seriously injured. Infact, a bullet hit the Togolese goalkeeper Kodjovi Obilalé, in the spine, ending his career on the spot. Star player and captain, Emmanuel Adebayor was unhurt, but visibly traumatized, yet wanted to continue the tournament. Due to the development, Togolese Federal Government approved the teams wish to withdraw from the tournament citing emotional distress, loss of lives, and safety concerns. In reaction the Confederation of African Football (CAF) slammed Togo a $50,000 fine, disqualified them and banned them for two AFCON tournaments citing; government interference, insisting the government ordered them to withdraw, against their will. FIFA had to intervene before the ban and fine was lifted. Two of the terrorists were arrested, and confessed that their targets was the security escorts not the players. This attack happened on January 9 2010, Emmanuel Adebayor retired from national team football two months later in March 2010. But returned. The Togolese government sent a military plane and escort to evacuate the team safely to Lome. Follow @TrendingEx for dailies..
