Demis Hassabis' new podcast with Lex Fridman just went viral. He exposed mind-blowing truths about AI & what's really coming by 2030 that 99% of people wouldn't know. It took me a day to digest it all... Here are my top 9 takeaways: 🧵

half a billion people watched ADHD videos on TikTok where more than half the information was wrong. > a 2025 study analyzed the top 100 ADHD videos on TikTok > combined views: nearly 500,000,000 > fewer than 50% of symptom claims matched the DSM > the algorithm rewarded the ones that got it wrong tiktok didn't give you ADHD. it gave you a script. and half a billion people memorized their lines.
Pirat_Nation 🔴@Pirat_Nation

Recent research shows that more than half of popular TikTok videos about ADHD spread misinformation. A 2025 study analyzing the top 100 ADHD videos (with nearly half a billion combined views) found that fewer than 50% of symptom claims aligned with clinical guidelines such as the DSM.

a single cyberattack on a breathalyzer company just locked out drivers across 45 states. > one company controls the breathalyzer tests for almost the entire country > hackers shut it down > sober drivers can't start their own cars > 45 states paralyzed overnight we gave a single point of failure control over who's allowed to drive. and someone just found it.

Nobody wants to hear this but it needs to be said. The co-founder of Super Micro Computer just got arrested for smuggling $2.5 BILLION worth of US AI chips to China. > The DOJ charged three people including SMCI's co-founder > At least $2.5 billion in AI technology smuggled in violation of export laws > This is the company supplying GPU servers to the biggest AI labs on earth Read that again. The co-founder of one of the most critical AI infrastructure companies in America was helping funnel your AI future to China. This wasn't a rogue employee. It came from the top.

the co-founder of a $20B AI server company was just arrested for smuggling GPUs to China. > Super Micro Computer's co-founder charged by DOJ > $2.5 billion worth of US AI chips smuggled to China > 3 people charged with violating export laws > the same company that builds the servers powering half of Silicon Valley's AI infrastructure the people building the hardware for American AI were quietly shipping it to the competition. an insider threat with a $2.5B price tag.

Nobody is talking about this and it's scary. Super Micro's co-founder just got accused of illegally shipping BILLIONS in AI server tech to China. > The same servers powering America's AI infrastructure > Secretly funneled to a foreign adversary > While the US pours billions into AI chip export bans Read that again. The guy helping BUILD America's AI backbone was allegedly selling it to China the entire time. The AI arms race has a mole.

linux just started collecting your birth date at the operating system level. > systemd added a "birthDate" field to every user record > built to comply with age-verification laws in california, colorado, and brazil > admins set it. sandboxed apps can read it. we didn't lose privacy in one satisfying explosion. we lost it one "optional" field at a time.
Pirat_Nation 🔴@Pirat_Nation

The main program that starts and manages almost everything on modern Linux computers, “systemd”, recently added an optional "birthDate" field to its user database records. This stores a user's full birth date so apps can check age, for example, to comply with new age-verification laws in places like California, Colorado, and Brazil. It is not automatic age checking. Systemd only saves the date. Only admins can set or change it, but the user and some sandboxed apps can read it.

Do you understand what just happened? Meta just killed the Metaverse. > $80,000,000,000 spent. > years of Zuckerberg in a virtual suit on stage. > every analyst saying it was the future. > employees forced to use it internally. > 11,000 people laid off "to fund it." and then one day: shut down. the same company is now betting everything on AI. they didn't pivot. they buried it and pretended it never happened.
Polymarket@Polymarket

JUST IN: Meta announces they'll be shutting down the Metaverse, after pouring $80,000,000,000.00 into the project.

Ray Kurzweil just said humans could reach near-immortality by 2030. > the man has been right on 86% of his predictions since 1990. > he predicted a pocket supercomputer by 2009. > you're reading this on it. > now he's saying nanobots will repair your cells faster than they degrade. > not in 2100. in 2030. most people will laugh. the same way they laughed the last time.
Kekius Maximus@Kekius_Sage

🚨 Futurist Ray Kurzweil predicts: by 2030, humans could be closer than ever to immortality, thanks to nanobots. Ray’s been right about ~86% of his past predictions. This could be his boldest yet.

openai is building an adult mode that's reportedly 'freaking out' their own safety advisers. > the same company that fired Sam Altman over "safety concerns" > hired him back 5 days later > dissolved the superalignment team > and is now shipping the one thing their advisers begged them not to the safety board was never the brakes. it was the permission slip. x.com/Polymarket/sta…

Nvidia just used AI to make games look photorealistic in real time. DLSS 5 runs a neural rendering model that generates lighting and materials on the fly. this isn't upscaling. it's AI hallucinating a better version of reality faster than your GPU can render it. the same company powering ChatGPT is now powering your frames. Nvidia isn't a chip company anymore.
Jacob Freeman@GeForce_JacobF

DLSS 5 is completely mind blowing. The neural rendering model with photoreal lighting and materials is a generation step up in visual fidelity. Gaming with DLSS 5 feels like future tech, but its possible now. It is truly incredible. 🤯

let me explain what just happened, because most people missed it. while everyone was watching OpenAI and Anthropic fight over benchmarks — a Chinese lab just rewrote how neural networks pass information between layers. not a bigger model. not more data. a fundamentally different architecture. Attention Residuals replaces a mechanism that's been in every major model for a decade. 1.25x compute advantage. validated on 48B parameters. the next era of AI won't be won by who has the most GPUs. it'll be won by who figures out the math first. Kimi just moved.
Kimi.ai@Kimi_Moonshot

Introducing 𝑨𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒖𝒂𝒍𝒔: Rethinking depth-wise aggregation. Residual connections have long relied on fixed, uniform accumulation. Inspired by the duality of time and depth, we introduce Attention Residuals, replacing standard depth-wise recurrence with learned, input-dependent attention over preceding layers. 🔹 Enables networks to selectively retrieve past representations, naturally mitigating dilution and hidden-state growth. 🔹 Introduces Block AttnRes, partitioning layers into compressed blocks to make cross-layer attention practical at scale. 🔹 Serves as an efficient drop-in replacement, demonstrating a 1.25x compute advantage with negligible (<2%) inference latency overhead. 🔹 Validated on the Kimi Linear architecture (48B total, 3B activated parameters), delivering consistent downstream performance gains. 🔗Full report: github.com/MoonshotAI/Att…

the company behind pokemon go just spun out an AI robotics division. it's powered by your data. > 30 billion images collected from players > 100 million+ active users who mapped the world for free > 1 million+ locations scanned in detail > now powering autonomous delivery robots you weren't catching pokemon. you were building the training dataset for the robots replacing delivery drivers.
