Atlanta isn’t bad tonight per se (need to be more clinical), but it’s a damn good example of one team carrying water for the whole game. DC seem to have no interest in this game right now.

@USSoccerColl Since there is no salary cap in next pro. Charlotte probably paid his 6m transfer fee via the second team contract and now when he gets a first team contract the fee doesn’t hit the salary cap. And they frame it as he needs to earn it to look like they took a risk on him.

Nimfa Berchimas now has 4G/1A in four matches. Charlotte GM Zoran Krneta recently said, "It's up to Nimfa" on whether Berchimas will feature for Charlotte FC's first team this season. Did I miss something? Since when does the player decide if he gets called up? Last time I checked, that's Dean Smith's job — not Berchimas's. Here's the thing about bullshit: it stinks, and people can smell it from a mile away. We all see what's happening here, and it's sending a terrible message to the top players in their academy. If your best young talent is putting up numbers like that and the front office is still deflecting with "it's up to him" — what exactly are you telling every kid in that pipeline about their future at the club?
