@jenncatt4 @YourLemonLove If you look at their profile, they're quite open about having an eating disorder. This will cause severe harm to your body, possibly permanent; this includes your brain. This is why it was such a concern to me.

@jenncatt4 @YourLemonLove Yes, this is true. However, this doesn't take away from my statement; An individual's reaction to external stress is not cognitive decline. My statement was made with the intention to incentivize the original poster to look into their health and rule out cognitive decline.

It actually pisses me off how people treat ADHD as just some weird quirk. I was diagnosed with severe ADHD when I was 5 and there is not a single moment it doesn't affect my life. Even with meds, it only gets worse with age and I have to keep upping my dose.

@IIV_Jack_Six @YourLemonLove I understand how I may come off that way, but I’m taking their claim of their symptoms worsening in the most literal way possible ; I don’t want to invalidate them or say that their cognitive decline is not real. Certainly, I agree that everything gets harder with age.

@11111four @YourLemonLove This is a little shortsighted. Living is a progressive disorder. Everything gets harder with age. Your ADHD isn't going to get worse, but it feels that way when everything else gets harder because of age.

@YourLemonLove Also, regarding tolerance, taking stimulant medication daily will drastically increase the acidity of your stomach acid; This will lead to inhibited absorption!! Consider taking a histamine blocker every now and then to reverse that, it may help with tolerance

@YourLemonLove I’m sorry about how people do not take your disorder seriously and you suffer immensely due to it , however ADHD is not a progressive disorder and does not worsen with age . If you’re experiencing cognitive/neurological decline you may need medical attention
