This is why Tim should’ve made him a cop with Athena because yet again his ass is stuck being an extension of a storyline instead of actually having one. And yeah ACAB whatever but this is fiction so if we are good with Buck having a kid he has no rights to, we should have been good with Eddie being a cop. GIVE THAT MAN HIS OWN STORY!

@118_B_shift i had a similar experience with opioids and it is one of the reasons i don’t drink. having a dependency on one substance can make your brain try to latch onto another one to fill that space. it’s just a way to be safe. a lot of people don’t abstain from other substances though 🤷‍♂️

cw: addiction, alcohol Genuine q, (tried googling first): Why is it when someone is recovering from addiction/dependency to one substance (Buck's opioids) they have to also abstain from alcohol, even if that wasn't a trigger, and not something they previously had issue with?

@fiooredimaggioo Look how he writes the other couples on the show. He either gives them kids & takes them away (HenRen) or use them as communication devices (Madney). Even Bathena had to be in mortal peril for him, and the whole cruise arc was him saying that w/ Athena's voice.

Trying to understand how recovery works in this case, I guess. I have and have had family members with varying degrees of opioid dependency/addiction, but they either had an alcohol dependency or alcohol was never mentioned, so I've never thought about this aspect of it before.
