Happy 1219 Day! Every December 19th (12/19/24) we celebrate creativity, collaboration and innovation in OKC by commemorating 1219 Creative office, co-work and art gallery. Gone, but not forgotten, including the (now previous) 125’ mural by Yatika Fields. Keep on being creative!

Eventually, the building was sold (now a dispensary, what a surprise) and all of the businesses, artists, non-profits & co-workers had to move. An unwelcome change we all had to deal with. Change always happens, how you react to it is the key to success. bit.ly/ListenToSMH

Have you seen the new @Yatikafields painting at the Oklahoma State Capitol? The Bright Golden Haze artist will also have work on view with us in ArtNow 2023.

Happy to have this work included in State Capitol Restoration Project, Oklahoma art in public places. Along with other selected Indigenous artist this work tells the layered memories and history of Spiro Mounds. Will make further post and work statement on IG soon.

Thrilled to have artist @Yatikafields with us today as we installed his new mural near the visitor entrance at the Oklahoma State Capitol. It's entitled: "Spiro: Serpent River, Shelled Stories, Sun-Touched Engravings."

#ThrowbackThursday 5 years ago all residents received a rude request to vacate. The new owner kicked everyone out, tore everything down we built, let it sit empty, then painted over Yatika Fields mural & turned our former co-working and art gallery space into another dispensary.

#TBT 5 years ago this week we left downtown OKC for the suburbs after a new owner of @1219Creative "went in a different direction" (surprise, it's now a dispensary) from our offices, co-working and art gallery. Next week, we return to downtown. Film Row to be exact. Details soon.
