Mental Health Advocates of WNY visited Albany this week. We talked about their Youth Peer Advocates, 18- to 30-year-olds trained to share their personal experiences with mental health struggles. It's an exceedingly challenging time to be young. Resources like this are essential.

As a kid, I knew that higher education was the key to realizing my dreams. And that college experience was accessible to me thanks to @SUNY. It's always a pleasure meeting with Dr. Kolison, president of my alma mater @FredoniaU, who visited today with Chief of Staff Dr. Baldwin.

@NYSUT's Committee of 100 Lobby Day invites educators to the capital each year to help elevate the needs of schools, teachers, and students. I love catching up with my former colleagues from the classroom – as many as will fit in my office!

The New York State School Music Association, or NYSSMA's All-State Conference Ensemble performed in Albany yesterday, so I got to meet some of the 140th AD's own: Marissa Fiorentino, Macy Gabel, and Mason Crago, from the NTCSD, and Copeland Baker from @ktufsd. Congrats, all! 🎶

Had a great time yesterday celebrating WNY Bike Fest at RiverWorks. A special thanks to @BertsBikes' Jim Costello, who joined me for a discussion of electric bike safety and the legislative package I've introduced to mitigate some of the known hazards of e-bikes. A fun afternoon.

This week I met with members of the NYS Association of Town Superintendents of Highways. Our roadways take a beating here - and safe transportation infrastructure is a quality-of-life concern. As a former Town councilman, their fight for more CHIPS funding is my fight, too. 🦺

The @NYSPFFA Legislative Conference today in Albany brought visiting friends from Buffalo Professional Firefighters, IAFF Local 282. First responders make up the fabric of our communities. I humbly welcome their insights, anytime, anywhere.

And my thanks to the team at @nhcwny for their tireless work on behalf of Western New Yorkers’ healthcare infrastructure.

I'm continuing to push my bill to moderate NY's hydrofluorocarbon phasedown and realign it with that of the EPA. This will give the industry time to adapt so stakeholders aren't left scrambling. We can't enforce climate laws that are unclear, unrealistic, and unaffordable.
