Sad to announce this but we are going to close this account on 1 August 2024 since its purpose has been accomplished. We really appreciate our followers, they supported this conference a lot by spreading the information related to each event.

We appreciate all of you, attendees and non-attendees, for their continuous support for this conference ever since we have proposed holding the 15th ICOC in Hiroshima.

Hello, copepodologists!! The 15th ICOC was successfully held in Hiroshima last month. More than 180 people attend the conference in-person and more than 30 person attend online.

Day 5. Student participants were more active today. Most of oral presentations were made by students and many questions and comments were raised also by students. 15th ICOC is conducted as a hybrid mode.

Communication between the online presenters and the onsite audience was quite successful. Hiroshima University Museum exhibits paper crafting. The museum staff taught the participants how to fold copepods with origami paper.

During the conference banquet, Prof. Susumu Ohtsuka received the Monoculus Award which is the highest award of WAC.

Participants went on the mid-conference tour which includes tracking in the Akiyoshido cave, spring hot (onsen), foot bath, walk on the Kintaikyo Bridge, and cormorant fishing (ukai).

Day 4. WAC President's necklace was handed over from the former President Prof. Diana Galassi to the present President Prof. Hans Dam. Prof. Dam made his Maxilliped Lecture entitled "Copepods as model systems for the response of the biota to global change".

A replica of one of the zinc plates was available for the participants to enjoy a copy of his drawing. Nine different lunch boxes were available and choosing one of them wasn't so easy!

Day 3. We discussed about the copepods associating with animals. They can be found from fish, invertebrates, and even from baleen of whales! Hiroshima University Museum exhibited the Takamochi Mori's Monograph and his zinc plates.

The 15th International Conference on Copepoda has begun! We are warmly welcomed by the mayor of the City of Hiroshima @15thICOC

Day 2. The two keynote speeches established the theme of the 15th ICOC which is the Sustainable Development Goals. A special event of the Japanese tea ceremony was presented during the lunch time.

Main conference started!! Over 180 participants will attend the conference in Hiroshima, and more than 30 participants will join it online. After staying at home for so long, copepodologists from all over the world finally gathered!
