@16beasleyst I have no idea! I was reluctant to go into specifics with them as it was irrelevant, so just showed them I had a camera with changeable lenses. They didn't seem convinced at first, but finally let me in!

First time for everything. Went to photograph a gig last night and got questioned by the venue about what camera gear I was using/whether it was "good enough" or not to let me in. That should be up to the bands management/PR to decide when approving the photopass, not the venue.

@MikConnor_ Been there a couple of days, pretty nice so far though am still trying to find everyone! Layout is the same as here and dead quick to set up so I’d say worth a try.

@NigelBig @bluesky True, and I think a lot of people (myself included) are posting here less. Maybe there’s been too many alternatives spring up over the last year or so but certainly looks like bluesky is the current landing point.

@MixingItAllUp Aha I wonder the same thing, like is it just because I keep getting pulled into these weird stories that the algorithm sends more my way! I suspect you have to find the right space on any platform really.

@16beasleyst This yeah! I sometimes see interesting posts come up on the thing on Instagram too, so I check them out. But other than that, I haven't found it very good. Maybe I'm not using it properly though as I just use it like Twitter as opposed to writing multiple "tweet" threads.

Pals on Threads / Bluesky - how are they working out for you? Are people still using Facebook? Feel like I’m still in a fairly happy corner of good people on here but struggling with the Musk/Trump affiliation.

@MixingItAllUp Thanks, my feeling is much the same. I get drawn in to look at Threads from Insta but I don’t see much engagement apart from on some wild stories &, like you say, some really triggering & unpleasant content.

@16beasleyst Tried Threads twice and really didn't like it. Pretty much no engagement on there, it just seems cold/dead and I found the "For You" page was filled with somewhat triggering stuff/unnecessary hateful posts. Worth a try to see if you find it better though!
