Post 177 Fairfax continues to roll! 177 comes back and downs Leesburg this afternoon in a wild game, 8-6. 177 advances to the VA State Championship tomorrow vs Post 280 Chesapeake and must win a double header to advance to the National Regional. Fairfax last won a title in 1979.

In American Legion, we played almost every day, practiced on off days, and had only 2 true off days a month. Then played for a real tournament worth something (districts, states, regionals, nationals). Now you try and practice and it’s like pulling teach. Youth ball is broken.

Post 177’s season came to an abrupt end with a 14-3 shellacking by Arlington. Tough way to end the year, but we’re proud of what these young men accomplished this summer.

Congratulations to @micah_roschke who led @d17albaseball in ERA 0.73 and WHIP 0.81 and was top 5 in K’s 30 and BAA 0.167. Micah plans to try and walk on for @PLUBaseball - we think they’ll be getting a great one!

Post 177 enters the District 17 @d17albaseball Tournament as the top seed. Our first game is tomorrow against McLean Post 270 at Providence at 7:00 p.m.

Post 177 lost a pitcher’s duel to Falls Church 2-1. Daniel Kissel @DanielKissel8 was strong for Fairfax: 6 IP, 5 H, 1R, 7 K, 3 BB. Just couldn’t get him any run support. Respect to Post 130’s pitchers who tossed a 1 hit gem.

Post 180 avenges an earlier season loss to 1st place Falls Church Post 130 last night, 16-4. Carter Tuft (shown) carries the O with 4 hits and 5 RBIs including a pair of doubles. James Robinson with 3 hits. Pitcher Jackson Bourdeau goes 7 and stays perfect on the season, now 4-0

Winning steak came to a screeching halt with an 11-4 drubbing by Vienna @vienna_post_180. Strong pitching held us to 4 hits, while our defense was … poor: 5 unearned runs on 5 errors, 7 wild pitches, and 3 passed balls.
