💊 In contrast, new β-lactam/β-lactamase inhibitor combinations and cefiderocol showed ≥99% susceptibility. These results support their potential role as therapeutic options against AmpC-hyperproducing Enterobacterales. #AntimicrobialResistance #Microbiology

🧪 Piperacillin/tazobactam showed very limited activity, with resistance rates up to 82% in these AmpC-hyperproducing isolates. Carbapenems retained activity overall, although differences were observed between agents. #AMR

🔥🔥🔬 New paper in Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy We evaluated the activity of established vs. new β-lactams against AmpC-hyperproducing Enterobacter cloacae complex and Klebsiella aerogenes from 314 clinical isolates collected in 8 Spanish hospitals.
