Am i being naively optimistic? Maybe… but id rather my faves’ work meet my naive optimism rather than a reaction that would make them second guess themselves (esp this early). Id rather the work be judged objectively on the merits than marred preconceptions of what i want/expect

Yours is a thoughtful reaction. Killing the hype before things start is not a smart move. It's hard to hide the initial response to a project. If you label something a "disappointment" how do you garner interest/support for it? It's also hard to change that perception later on.
