
No ghetto track back then. Just relatively recent Italian, Irish, Jewish and other immigrants who made the South Bronx home for a couple of generations. Once they 'made it' and moved all the way to the Nort Bronx, then the crime took over. In the '60s my parents wouldn't even let me play on the Cardinal Hayes baseball team because leaving practice at McCombs Damn Park in the dark was not a great idea.
