When you have been raised in an abusive environment where there was no refuge or any hope of calvary. The help or rescue attempt will also come off as a attack. And you will fight being pulled out of that condition because no matter how much it hurt the unfamiliar territory of safety & security will initially be uncomfortable. Especially when pain and suffering has become your identity. What we have is people on the sideline (media mouth pieces) watching you receive the help you should have gotten and making you believe you are being pulled into continued danger.
