IRA terrorists at Loughall purported to be an ‘army’ engaged in a ‘war’. The SAS quite rightly eliminated them, entirely lawfully. The only problem with Loughgall was that such action against the IRA was too infrequent.

NI’s place in the Union has been subjugated in order to appease nationalism. For 25 years it has been ‘unionism must give, nationalism must get’. Enough was enough long ago.

There is no basis for the Irish Government having any role in NI. This is part of the United Kingdom & the Irish Government should stay within their own lane, which for the avoidance of doubt ends at the land border. End the aggression.

The UUP have won the support of the SDLP. That should tell them all they need to know.

Interesting that at the Senate in Paris the French referred continually to the United Kingdom and not Great Britain and England whereas the Sky Commentator referred to King Charles as the King of England. Where is Wales; Scotland; and Northern Ireland or is Sky out of touch?

The UUP’s strategy is ‘subjugate to save’ the Union. It’s the equivalent of seeing your house on fire & pouring fuel on, whilst shouting to your neighbours ‘strategy not tactics…I’m the only one can save this house’.

If they want a ‘yes’, it’s very simple. Restore the Acts of Union. That means, for the slow learners, to put Article 6 back exactly as it was prior to the imposition of the Union-subjugating Protocol Framework.

The NIO’s latest threats are simply an effort to bully unionists, and I dare say to try & empower weak unionists such as Beattie. Like all the other tactics and threats. It will fail. Power sharing or Protocol Framework. Never both.

The fault line for Jamie is (1) He fails to see The Framework is already being implemented. (2) He doesn't acknowledge the only way to challenge this is through a functioning Executive. (3) He can't grasp the damage currently being done to unionism through failure of government.

Here is Lord Caine rejecting an amendment to the Protocol Bill by Baroness Hoey which would have required adherence to Art 6 of the Acts of Union, on the basis it would frustrate the green/red lane… Have the Gov had a road to Damascus conversion?

The Acts of Union (as the Gov’s own advice make clear) cannot sit alongside the Framework. Telling lies is nothing new for Downing Street; just look at the desperate spoofing around the Framework itself telling everyone it did one thing when it patently obviously did another.

There will be no climbdown. For so long as the Acts of Union remain in suspension, so too will power sharing.

The legal position is- and always was- emphatically clear. There is no way by which the Framework & Art 6 of the Acts of Union can co-exist. To implement the Framework is to collaborate in the subjugation of the Union. Framework or power sharing. Never both.
