And so it goes again, the result of the last night in war: Ukraine struck a strategic Russian oil port. Russia struck a residential building in Odesa, killing two women and a child and wounding 15, including children and a pregnant woman. There is a bottomless, insurmountable gulf between these two countries.

Thoughts from a retired Special Operations Officer. Though I am not an aircraft surgeon, nor a Coniurationis Fautor, I have some thoughts that may be on interest, presented in three points, a conclusion, and a hypothesis, regarding the US rescue operation in Iran, with consideration to the photos of the aircraft used. I have flown on the C-130H and the MC-130J in training and in combat, to include static line airborne operations, Military Freefall (HALO) operations, and combat infiltration and exfiltration in austere environs, such as the Kobani Landing Zone (KLZ) in Northeast Syria during Operation Inherent Resolve. Point one: it is important to note that the aircraft used in this operation were NOT the standard C-130 Hercules model, which have 4-blade, steel propellers (see picture #2). The fixed-wing aircraft used were the MC-130J, Commando II, operated by the U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command for clandestine operations. The MC-130J uses six-bladed Dowty R391 composite propellers (see picture #1). These blades are constructed from composite materials, specifically featuring a carbon fiber structure rather than the metal (aluminum) used on older C-130 models. Point two: carbon fiber does not melt in the traditional sense, as it does not turn into a liquid. However, the resin matrix holding the fibers does melt and become viscous. Point three: Steel/aluminum blades snap and break. MC-130J R391 blades shatter and can melt. The images we see from the destroyed aircraft (picture #6) show 6 blades. Therefore, these are the MC-130J Dowty blades (they can melt). And as you can see in picture 4 and 5, when not melted, but rather broken, they shred and snap. They do not bend. As you can see from the steel/aluminum variant on the C-130H model, the blades snap and break and bend, they do not shatter or melt. Conclusion: To declare that the aircraft "definitely" were shot down based on the "bent" propellers is false. Could the aircraft have been shot down? Yes. Could the aircraft have been shot down AND the blades melted in the extreme heat of the fire from the BIP (blown in place)? Yes. Both can be true. But it can also be true that the aircraft was not shot down, nor crash landed, and the propellers do indicate burning and melting, not a crash. Hypothesis: The rescue operation expanded to become the desired Delta Force, JSOC, SOF, ST-6 high-risk operation to ALSO seize the uranium in Iran; hence the need for so many operators, support, aircraft, etc. This WAS intended to be that operation. It failed. So what happened to the aircraft. I do not believe that they were "stuck". I have seen MC-130Js plow through dirt, mud, snow, gravel, etc. I doubt they were stuck. It is more likely that the aircraft took hits upon entry and also likely took hits and damage while on the ground at the hasty FARP at the old airfield in Isfahan, "conveniently" close to where the suspected uranium may have been stored. Lesson: A ground war into Iran will be very costly and will be a tactical, operational, and strategic failure (Clausewitz).

Please get a map. We cannot defend America or our interests from Fort Bragg or Norfolk NAS or San Diego. We need forward presence and forward friends and shared intelligence. Half of the Intel we use comes from allies, not US satellites. Allies give us access and bases.

@general_ben @AdamKinzinger America should always do it alone, always plan on doing it alone without some second rate help. We should pull out and just be friends to them.

The math Italy just handed Netflix is terrifying for every subscription company on Earth. 5.4 million Italian subscribers. Up to €500 per Premium user, €250 per Standard user. Netflix launched in Italy at €11.99/month in 2015 and hiked four times to €19.99 by 2024. The court said every single increase was illegal because the contract never stated a justified reason for any of them. The total refund exposure is somewhere in the hundreds of millions of euros. For a single country with ~2% of Netflix's 325 million global subscribers. Here's what nobody is pricing in: Germany and Spain have already filed identical challenges using the same EU Directive from 1993. Berlin and Cologne courts already ruled that generic price-change clauses are void. Italy just gave every consumer group in Europe a finished legal template. Netflix hiked prices globally on March 26. Six days later, this ruling dropped. The company is now simultaneously raising prices worldwide while a court in its fourth-largest European market ordered it to roll prices back to 2015 levels. The real exposure here isn't Italy. Netflix can absorb hundreds of millions. The real exposure is the legal principle: telling customers "we're raising your price, you can cancel if you don't like it" is not consent under EU law. That logic applies to every subscription service operating in Europe. Every SaaS company. Every streaming platform. Every telecom. The freedom to cancel is not the freedom to agree. That one sentence just repriced the entire European subscription economy.
Pubity@pubity

Italy has declared that Netflix's recent price hikes from 2017 to 2024 were illegal and enacted without proper warning for customers. Netflix not only has to reduce its price in Italy, but pay customers back every cent they overpaid.

@AmbJohnBolton US support to Ukraine ended over a year ago. Since it has turned into diplomatic pressure to cede uncoquered lands to Russia, signing expoliatory deals... Could you at least tell us what's the objective in Iran? Because so far we're only listening to mad ramblings

The Europeans made a critical mistake by ignoring Iran, and taking Trump’s bait by saying “Iran is not our war.” Europe is well within range of Iran’s missiles. Its economies are threatened by closure of the Strait of Hormuz. They’ve given Trump the perfect opportunity to end US support of Ukraine. telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/04/0…

The massacre of Russia's air defence visualised. Ukraine's drone units have struck 85 SAM systems or "complex radars" in 2026. This is a 240% increase on the previous 3 months and is almost certainly why we're seeing more success from Ukraine's long-range strikes.

@yoen100palabras @panikeroj Es extremadamente fácil distinguir ciertas cosas. Derechos humanos.

On April 4, 1949, the North Atlantic Treaty was signed in Washington, uniting the United States, Canada, and 10 European nations in a historic commitment to collective defense and peace. Then, and now, it stands as a powerful example of what strong alliances can achieve. 77 years later, emerging rhetoric from Washington risks undermining the very coalitions that helped secure Allied victory after WWII. Now, as global tensions mount, the United States must remain a steadfast partner to its European allies and its commitment to peace. I look forward to 77 more years of transatlantic partnership. @NATO
