it’s hard for me to describe the process of cutting out attributes clearly over these two years, we’ve approached nearly a ton of destroyed magazines… at some point, I truly felt : my eyes worked like an automatic scope for the right attribute, and my fingers - like a specially trained machine the cutting took a very long time. I’m glad it’s behind me now, and that I can calmly write about itn on top of the cut-out attributes, markers, pens, tapes came into play I tried burning and extinguishing the cutouts, embroidering on them… I tried everything to understand which scan would suit us best I don’t want to talk about how hard it was - I’ll just say we gave it our all all of this stopped being fun or a joke a long time ago we aim to create something we will remember with pleasure, and something our community will truly appreciate - without any pretense. we want to leave a mark before forming the collection, we conducted a long selection of magazines hundreds of 18+ publications were leafed through, from the ’65s to the early 2000s. the goal wasn’t just to build an archive, but to understand which editions carried the right aesthetic and format, and which were purely commercial I spent days studying the history of each creator : Playboy, Penthouse, Hustler, and many lesser-known French magazines from the 60s and 70s penthouse left a particular impression. founder Bob Guccione, had an artistic background and treated erotica as frame-based art. his works and approach were closer to our vision than many others there are no coincidences in this collection. everything was selected and sorted dozens of times. follow Jezebel - there will be more information very soon
