A team of Advocates including @gloria_kimani and @Benign_Overlord have been following up on the arrest and detention of Nairobi Central Police Station OCS, Chief Inspector Dishen Angoya. The team has ascertained that he is still under arrest but is recovering steadily after seeking medical attention. All clarifications on the circumstances leading to his arrest have been recorded in his statement and we anticipate this matter will soon be resolved to its logical and just conclusion. We await his arraignment in Court and will ensure he is properly represented.

Finance Bill 2026 summarized. ✅What I like about it: 1.VAT exemptions on electric buses and bicycles 1. VAT exemptions on dialysers which will improve accessibility for Kidney disease patients. 2. VAT exemptions for animal feed raw materials and PPP infrastructure 3. ⁠Reduction of corporate tax for non-resident companies from 37.5% to 30% which improves foreign investment ❌My reservations about it: 1. Proposed increased residential rental income tax from 7.5% to 10% which will potentially increase rent. 2. ⁠Removal of existing VAT exemptions on money transfers which would see an increase in money transfers and payment processing.
