Premier League atmospheres across the board are as bad as I can ever remember and it’s because the lifelong, die-hard fans are being pushed aside in favour of a different clientele. Apologies for the elongated nature of this rant, I wanted to get it off my chest.

@nigelwinship Hi Nigel, really well said. Putting the decision to one side, the way the club has handled this matter and their comms around it has been incredibly disappointing, particularly as there’s been no goodwill gesture or tangible show of appreciation. #afcb

Meanwhile my LinkedIn and Instagram feeds are full of the new Seasonal Hospitality offer. I appreciate in the macro why the club is doing this (I really do!) - but just feel it could all be being handled so much better. Hopefully clarity will emerge soon! 🍒 (3/3)

Thoughts on current situation with Seatgate at my beloved #afcb. In summary, I’m feeling fed up and a little disillusioned with how club is handling the conversion of my (15 year held) seat to hospitality. I gave up an evening of my time to hear more, over a week ago. (1/3)

@bobbybsmith83 Tbh, I can understand why some players do walk straight off given the abuse they get. Heard several fans booing Unal as he walked off. Not sure I’d stick around to clap people that are shouting and moaning every time I kick the ball! #afcb

@DAGreenslade Hi Dom, if I remember correctly at the meeting last Thursday the club said that they sell 97% of their hospitality seats. There wasn’t further detail on this nor any follow up questioning of this point. I assume there’s less demand for the ‘less glamorous’ fixtures though. #afcb

Tomorrow night, can someone request the stats for the current hospitality and the estimated hospitality income. Percentage seats available vs percentage sold vs percentage attended sort of thing #afcb

Stoke heading into their 19th season without raising prices of their season tickets. Can only applaud it in a climate where just about everything is expensive 👏

@Ackino Oh its still a massively disappointing situation & the positives I saw don’t mean I agree with all of #afcb decisions. Ultimately, us fans cannot change the fact that football is now unequivocally a financial & commercial beast that is pricing (& in this case) moving people out

Interested to hear other’s opinions on the #afcb meeting last night. I think there were positives. The staff I spoke to seemed genuine and decent people. Hospitality and commercialisation is an ugly reality of modern game & fans did a good job of showing their feelings on it.

@ashleyafcb1 @GuyN72 Im sadly resigned to the fact that ticket prices will increase each year. Club’s strong message that it has to maximise revenue just to compete in PL won’t change. From my chat w/ head of tickets, probable steady increase in price but no suggestion of massive hike in GA #afcb

@GuyN72 … And he suggested that the additional seats in the East stand would be priced similarly to what we have atm (though subject to whatever the year on year increase is). I was worried these new seats would be priced far above what we pay now but doesn’t seem to be the case. #afcb

@GuyN72 Ticket price and possible increases not discussed in main meeting. I chatted with the head of ticketing after though. I think there will be a relative price increase each year tbh. I asked about the additional seating being added to the East stand though… #afcb

A key point raised during Q&A was on compensation or goodwill gesture for fans affected. There was nothing forthcoming from club and I don’t feel #afcb have gotten this aspect of the situation right yet. Fans feel that their loyalty and support of 25+ years should be recognised

Lots of queries were answered, including how the selection of seating would work for those affected both next season and after the redevelopment of the stadium is complete. Fans affected would be given priority choice of available seats both next season and the one after #afcb

@alexdeutsch I suppose being notified earlier is the key thing. I think I speak for most fans, not just those affected, when I say this has come as a big surprise, given how reassuring Bill’s comments were. We could have been informed earlier and consulted throughout the process ideally #afcb

@19JRT93 The Solent interview Jim did was good, fair and full of insight. With this in mind, could you ask why - when they have such a hugely talented media department - they opted for a soulless email correspondence when other mediums more suitable for emotive subjects?

Ahead of tonight’s meeting with #afcb regarding removal of STs for hospitality, I’m interested to know if any fans were aware/notified prior to last week’s email? Jim F said on BBCSolent it was ‘always part of the plan’ but I can’t find anything public before last week?

@alexdeutsch I appreciated the interview Jim gave, which as you say was full of info. He said the public exhibition (July ‘25) was where he’d spoken to fans about this matter. I don’t recall being notified of this particular matter ahead of the exhibition or it being publicised after. #afcb
