@sydurbanek Tobe Hooper / Spielberg is probably obvious. Not frequent but I think it’s arguable the conflation with Poltergeist stalls Hooper’s hopes of greater recognition outside the genre. Happens a lot with Spielberg productions, doesn’t it?

A lot of us (us Jews, that is) have encountered the weird antisemitic "you Jews must all know each other" trope, and when it happens it's kind of funny because it's so absurd. And then, like all tropes, it becomes quite deadly.

NBC News: The hostage taker at the synagogue in Texas had the rabbi call a different rabbi in New York City. The purpose of the call was to again demand the release of Aafia Siddiqui. The New York City based rabbi called 9-1-1 and the NYPD is well aware of the incident. (1/2)
