@1FFootball1 'Sacking Tim Steidten and handing more control to David Sullivan.' Tim Steidten didn't do a good enough job at the club. But, David Sullivan is not a technical director and shouldn't have taken the responsibility of one.

Every pundit and journalist suddenly has an opinion on West Ham because they're paid to. Some are taking pot shots at West Ham fans for wanting more from their football club. Others are showing sympathy. Most are missing the bigger picture. Yes, we deserve to go down. The table doesn't lie. But this didn't start this season. It started when we left Upton Park for a stadium that was never built for football. It continued through years of poor ownership, poor decision making and a club drifting without direction. Failing to replace Declan Rice. Appointing the wrong managers after David Moyes. Sacking Tim Steidten and handing more control to David Sullivan. Recruiting the wrong players and overpaying for them. £40 million for Max Kilman. £27 million for Niclas Füllkrug. Catastrophic decisions in a long line of catastrophic decisions. The Lucas Paquetá saga. Graham Potter stripping leadership from the dressing room. Rising ticket prices. Concessions removed. Fan revolts. Protests. All while clubs with smaller budgets and less prestige have overtaken us. The debate has become far too black and white. Relegation isn't the result of one bad season. It's the consequence of a decade of mistakes. We've sleepwalked into this position. I've never felt more empty as a West Ham fan. A 3-0 home win against Leeds should never feel hollow, but it did. Because too often this season we've fallen short of the standards expected of a club our size. West Ham have been relegated before. But doing it in this stadium feels different. There's debt hanging over the club, reports of £150m+ in player sales needed to satisfy financial regulations, and genuine uncertainty about what comes next. How has a club with so much potential allowed itself to end up here? From European glory in Prague, the greatest night of my life as a West Ham fan, to the uncertainty of Championship football just a few years later. That's not bad luck. That's years of failure catching up with us.

Fun Hindsight Fact 📊 David Moyes would have relegated us with 19/20 and 22/23 final points tallies for those seasons, this season.

@FinchyRiley Your defence of Tim was 3 signings made before he joined. You're an idiot.

@1FFootball1 Just no point conversing is there. Easy to call someone an idiot than to actually put forward a counter-argument or something of any value.

Moyes Everton couldn’t beat this Spurs side. But I’m supposed to beleive this never would’ve happened under him. Behave.

@FinchyRiley Aguerd, Emerson & Areola were 22/23. I think it's easier to just admit you're an idiot and work on that.

@1FFootball1 Again. Any substance? Signings like Kudus, Alvarez, Aguerd, Areola, Emerson were all very good at the time. Yes in hindsight, they didn’t turn out the best but they had the potential to be great signings. And our recruitment post/Stiedten has been poo.

@FinchyRiley If you can't see how bad his squad building is, then there's nothing I can say to you.

@1FFootball1 Don’t think he was the issue honestly. Liked his signings, just didn’t fit the style of the manager. The ownership should’ve never paired the two together.

@1FFootball1 The “be careful what you wish for” brigade are out in full swing. Relegation was inevitable with or without Moyes is my point. I am forever grateful to him for the time he had here though

@1FFootball1 @Dadsourjobtv @WestHam_Central I quite clearly remember fans insisting on having a DoF as that's what other successful teams had. I remember the fans asking to buy young talent (under 25) and thats what steidten did.

I do think he was a bad appointment - he was just never fully backed or given full control in hiring a manager which suited the formation they wanted to implement. Strange how our whole academy team play 343 and yet out first team had a manager who usually plays 4231 trying to play 343... Just didn't work! Also lopetegui dug his heels in to sign players that didn't suit the system. If Stiedten got his way, we would've had Seb Hoeness and bought to suit that. I feel for Tim I really do.

@theiron201 @AaRron_BiG1sWHU lol, what's funny about all this is people moan we don't long term plan, become reactionary and don't give people time, then when there's talk of a new DOF instead of Sullivan they don't want one whilst apologising to players that are doing well now.

@JOGOBONlTO The way I see it is that they’re 1 point above us because we’ll win final day. If we beat wolves and they lose to united then I think they’re gone. Something like 1 win in 11 and no one mentions them for the drop

@jj_whufc @Milkman8971 @ts0179 It’s about what those striker signings have allowed the team to do. Those two striker signings completely changed the way we play. We changed formation, we pressed higher etc.. Wilson was gassed after 10 minutes

@xDellisOfficial @westhamlive5 Irrelevant he was still very poor, your team mates do not excuse the poor attitude, poor effort, giving the ball away in bad areas, sloppy passing etc etc. There is no argument we have been better, if he can back now he would not improve us
