I’m telling you, this is not being made for the book lovers, it’s being made as a money grab and to replace the original cast because half of them don’t talk to J.K. anymore.

The main change that I want from the Harry Potter HBO Show is Harry and Hermione ending up together at the end. Even J. K. Rowling has admitted she made a mistake with putting her with Ron. This change needs to happen.

@DonaldClarke63 Film Snape has warped people's view of what Snape was like in the books. Film Snape is a strict, sometimes mean teacher, but with a heart of gold.
Book Snape is a sadistic, child hating arsehole who stopped being a nazi because his crush was going to be killed.

This miscast of Snape in Harry Potter is a good example of race swapping changing an entire story. If Snape is Black, despite books saying he’s White, then Harry is now suspicious that the only Black teacher at Hogwarts is stealing and his Dad bullied a Black kid by hanging him. This seems like a major story change to introduce the idea of racism, and it strays from the source material. 🥴

@JayExci Harry Potter isn't a franchise that can really expand beyond the original story. The appeal is the wizard school (why HL did so well), not the wider wizard world.
It's like Star Wars, and why most of the good stuff like Andor takes place during the original story.

Tried the new Tomodachi Life demo with the UK English localization for like 15 minutes and the game used the word "Bonce", a word I've never heard before and which apparently peaked in usage in the late 1800s. I deleted my save data and set my location to North America after that

@sheebadigeebies The movie version benefits from most of Snape's horrid behaviour being entirely cut. His redemption works so much better in the films because his worst actions to the kids in those are calling Hermione insufferable and being mean to Harry in his first lesson.

My only wish for Snape is not that they don’t make him too likeable. Through all 7 books he has occasional moments of heroism and pity, but he always consistently behaves like a cunt.
