Gas companies are under pressure and are peddling absolute BS to Australians. But we're seeing through their spin. Tragically the major parties keep using the industry’s lines and putting multinational gas companies interests ahead of the interests of Australians. We deserve a fair return on our offshore gas exports. Simple as that. A 25% gas export tax won't stop investment overnight or destroy the gas industry (all these arguments were used in Norway when they decided to tax their gas exports) - we’ll just have more revenue to pay down debt, put some in a sovereign wealth fund and fund cost of living relief Australians desperately need right now. 7news.com.au/news/7news-the…

I modeled this. The gas export tax could actually reduce government revenue , especially if it renders production sources uneconomic. Domestic prices might fall. But, there is a significant deadweight loss and corporate income falls (and with it, government revenue). This is especially a problem given the stepped supply curve whereby expensive production sources will not not be viable, so entire sources of production (and revenue) can cease to exist.

🔥 RECESSION AUSTRALIA 🔥 Australia could plunge headfirst into a recession within months with unemployment poised to surge along with inflation, according to startling modelling. Deloitte Access Economics warned of two nightmare scenarios as the war in the Middle East continues. The first mapped out what would happen if the conflict was protracted over a long period, sending oil prices to $US175 a barrel.  The unemployment rate could rise from 4.3 per cent to 6.8, with more than one million Australians out of work, while inflation would soar from 3.7 per cent to 7.5, as the country entered a deep recession. The second scenario looked at what would happen if oil reached $US150 a barrel, which several analysts have warned is a likely scenario if the Strait of Hormuz remains closed over the next few weeks. Deloitte forecasted that Australia would fall into recession, inflation would hit 6.6 per cent by the end of the year, and that more than 950,000 workers would be unemployed. Australia was always headed into a full recession regardless of the Iran war. We have been in a per capita recession since 2023.

Labor's solution to the fuel crisis is spending $20 million on ads telling you to "take off your roof racks". The real solution is to start drilling and digging. Australia has the resources to supply our own power needs for thousands of years. We should never be vulnerable to foreign imports. Net-zero is the reason why refineries shut down leaving us in today's fuel crisis. We need to ditch net-zero and drill baby drill to become self-reliant again. Last week the Parliament IT department opened up access to One Nation's "secure" and sensitive Parliamentary files to all the other parties. This is a significant breach of Parliamentary security and the matter has been referred to the AFP. Hopefully Liberal and Labor picked up some good policies while they were in our files because they need all the help they can get.

@craigkellyAFEE Well, most of our farms were in North-West & South-West Sydney, like Kellyville & Leppington. Now it's all houses instead of cow paddocks. But west of the Great Divide had lots of bush, when farms went West, they removed the natural protection from heat (trees) for cow pastures.

Australia’s Nationalist Future May Depend on a Nationals-One Nation Merger Political commentator and founder of Australian National Review, Jamie McIntyre, says the best political chance for Australia to break free from globalist influence and return to genuine national sovereignty may be for the Nationals and One Nation to join forces under new leadership. Voters want leaders focused on Australia, not foreign states.” He said public sentiment is shifting rapidly, and parties that fail to recognise that shift risk political irrelevance. “The future is Australia for Australia,” McIntyre said. “Not Australia serving global banks, foreign lobby groups, multinational agendas, and endless overseas entanglements.” McIntyre believes a restructured nationalist political force could tap into growing dissatisfaction among Australians who feel betrayed by both major parties and increasingly ignored on issues such as immigration pressure, housing affordability, farming, inflation, national assets, and cultural identity.
