Since '05, Watermelon Slim has received 21 Blues Music Award nominations, including 2 wins for “Band of the Year” & “Album of the Year”. It all started with the Solo Release, “Up Close & Personal” in '04. Come join Watermelon Slim as he plays only a few select solo dates in '24!

He received his first Blues Music Award nomination in 2005, for “Best New Artist Debut”. At that time, the awards were the “WC Handy Awards”, and to this day the BMA show is still produced by the Blues Foundation in Memphis.
