@1_vwl @ShutupToshi9227 @TheMarvSpace Thought dude was a poorly coded bot, but scrolling his feed made me realize he’s got a poorly coded brain. Just constantly contradicting his own statements & clearly knows zero ball.

Really unfortunate one of the most prominent nfl YouTubers has such a bad gage on talent. Fitz had the greatest post season run ever by a WR and significantly better longevity than both of those guys with a higher peak (for SURE higher than Evans). Bad comparison lol

@BrettKollmann Can’t wait to see this same tweet with Mike Evans and Deandre Hopkins in 10 years

@7elevenevan @KenGrippeyJr @BengalYouTube I really like to hate on AB but he’s in my top 10 and when i’m hating top 15 his peak was really good but he kinda falls short in my grading when looking at everything plus i kinda just despise what he became. Peak for Peak tho? He’s maybe top 1-2 best peaks of all time

I said Larry Fitzgerald was better than Mike Evans but apparently I didn’t say he was he was better enough lol. My “gage” on talent also apparently is misremembering that Deandre Hopkins was the best WR in the NFL while playing without a QB. Sounds familiar actually

@7elevenevan @KenGrippeyJr @BengalYouTube I think one could argue for either for sure, i’m probably more partial to wanting to see consistency and play over a long career (I just love ball and wanna see them play for as long as they can) but i wouldn’t take away from CJ for having a shorter career. Or Kuechly for that 1

@1_vwl @KenGrippeyJr @BengalYouTube Like CJs career is definitely better had he had more postszn opportunities + success but his career isnt made worse without it (not saying you’re saying that) , but if I’m arguing CJ vs Larry, I’m not gonna use larry’s post szn. Calvin is better despite that (imo)

@1_vwl @KenGrippeyJr @BengalYouTube Wouldnt say i disagree at the core of your sentiment. I think where many (not saying you necessarily) go wrong tho is using postszn to detract from a players career w/o proper context. Thats why ive never liked it as arguments w/ WRs, DL, etc.

@7elevenevan @KenGrippeyJr @BengalYouTube Here’s my twitter text limit breakdown to kinda give more proof to what I mean
1vwl@1_vwl

@RaidersFan41 @TheMarvSpace How I see things: There’s three main ways we should really evaluate a player. Career, regular season production, and post season production. Four if you include accolades but those, in my opinion, tend to be biased towards larger market teams. I’ll post multiple parts for each

@1_vwl @KenGrippeyJr @BengalYouTube Im not saying wipe it away & never mention larry’s playoff games. Im merely saying im not using them to determine who the better skill player is. Id rather use tape, measurables & what they did w/ those, their skillsets & preference towards different ones etc

@7elevenevan @KenGrippeyJr @BengalYouTube I hear you, fortunately they have nearly the same size pool to pull from. I want to see who’s doing more with less, efficiency, and making the most out of those limited opportunities. To me that makes a great player including everything else as well

@1_vwl @KenGrippeyJr @BengalYouTube Well there’s no ring to talk about, so there’s that, but also, again because the position we’re talking about is so dependent, it’s far too easy for those guys to not get opportunities to impact the game as much in the postszn, especially given the inherently small sample size

@KenGrippeyJr @BengalYouTube I would even consider having the argument based on how close they are to catching Rice from a cumulative standpoint

@1_vwl @BengalYouTube Its not really a double edged sword. A more productive offense with a better QB will always boost its best weapons. Its why, despite postseason success and leading the league in yardage one year, no one ever remembers to include Michael Irvin in these discussions

@KenGrippeyJr @BengalYouTube My hope would be to change how we discuss and analyze performances ultimately, I will say I have seen good conversations about Irvin. But largely you’re not wrong

@7elevenevan @KenGrippeyJr @BengalYouTube I personally think that’s faulty and wrong. To perform consistently during the hardest part of the season is important and should absolutely not be overlooked. We absolutely should remember the greatest post season performances because why even play? Just give the ring away ATP

@1_vwl @KenGrippeyJr @BengalYouTube Playoff success for any position other than QB really doesnt mean much. Especially at WR. Such a dependent position. That doesnt mean demean Fitz’s performances, but we dont (& shouldnt) remember WRs for their postszn performances imo, that doesnt define their career.

@KenGrippeyJr @BengalYouTube I would argue while Boldin took coverage away he also took opportunities away from Fitz that he would’ve had. It’s a double edged sword for that argument. Many people see playoff success as irrelevant but I personally think that’s wrong. It’s the most important time of season.

@1_vwl @BengalYouTube But you realize why that's kinda ridiculous right? Playoff success is almost an irrelevant metric for comparing 2 WRs. The fact that AJ played on a team with no other weapons, where every DC gamplanned for him, with a worse QB, and still outperformed Fitz is way more meaningful.

@KenGrippeyJr @BengalYouTube Truthfully that’s why my argument for WR 1 includes Regular and Post Season production, you really can’t have one without the other. AJ and many other WRs have better regular season peaks than Larry, but Larry was a playoff riser and peaked higher when it mattered most

@1_vwl @BengalYouTube There were 2 seasons in Larry's career where an argument could be made that he was in the WR1 convo, 08 and 09. In both seasons AJ80 beat him in yds and rec despite having an inferior QB and no other WR2 close to Boldin to take pressure off. Plus AJ80 is just a superior athlete

@ShutupToshi9227 @TheMarvSpace Don’t do that I know you see the rest of my argument in the other posts, let’s keep this honest. And “one game” as if it’s not the biggest game of their lives where you’d expect them to perform to their absolute best in order to win lol

@ShutupToshi9227 @TheMarvSpace That’s super controversial because Julio has nothing over Larry in the postseason lol. Not better all time production, didn’t peak higher and didn’t have a better superbowl performance
