@lorsehatitudes @butterfield2006 I agree in saying I don’t think Nissan will sponsor us but you seem to have missed the whole point of a sponsorship

@lorsehatitudes @butterfield2006 Because there are literally studies showing this link, proved through polling data/opinion polls? Google it along with how sponsorships work while you’re there

@lorsehatitudes @butterfield2006 They have tangible benefits of putting something back - I.e. favourable opinions towards expansion of their business in the region in the future

@butterfield2006 @1uke28 They’re a business whose leaders have a fiduciary responsibility to deliver value to shareholders (capitalism fucking sucks). If “putting something back in” was raised at a board meeting, whoever raised it would be laughed out of the room (and probably sacked)

@lorsehatitudes @butterfield2006 Plus they’ll get brownie points for investing in the local community, more favourable local opinions = opinion will be more favourable to future expansion in Sunderland, so there’s loads of reasons

@lorsehatitudes @butterfield2006 Because that’s quite literally how advertising works 🤣 Ofcourse you’re not going to go out and buy one after seeing it on the shirt but if you see it again and again it’ll be in your mind subconsciously next time you have to buy a new car

@lorsehatitudes @butterfield2006 Are you aware of how sponsorships work? Why do you think companies like red bull sponsor teams when everyone has already heard of them, it’s not only for brand recognition

@butterfield2006 They’ve got absolutely nowt to gain from it. They’re the 6th biggest car manufacture in the world - it’s not like they need to raise their profile
