It was the best game of the state tournament so far as Trotwood-Madison completed the D3 gauntlet to hold off Steubenville 48-47 for the State Championship.
The Rams started strong in the game jumping out to a quick 11-6 lead after one. They would extend their advantage by a point at the break at 25-19, but Steubenville had another run in them keeping the game close until late in the fourth when they took their first lead of the game on a Santino Haney (16 pts) free throw, but the Rams retook the lead when game MVP Darius Dennis (17 pts, 14 reb) drove the lane and hit a jumper to give Trotwood-Madison the lead back.
Big Red had one chance to win it at the buzzer when Haney drove the length of the court and had a great look at the bucket, but his shot glanced off of the side of the rim.
It's the second state championship for the Rams (2019) while the Big Red finish runner-up in their first trip to state in 70 years.

Let me summarize the Urban/PSU Saga for you since I was the person who broke it:
(OSU fans won't like this)
- Urban reaches out to PSU FIRST, one of the initial candidates.
- Wants the job. Huge opportunity, massive fandom, renovated stadium, $300 mill Adidas money. Always loved the environment.
- Has two conversations: first convo goes fine. It ends with "We both want this, find a way to make it work" from Urban.
- Second convo, centered on plan for NIL. Convo does not go well at all. Kraft says thanks but no thanks. Urban ain't ready to come back in this iteration of college football.
- Urban then comes out publicly saying he has no interest in coming back.
This is what happened. Cry all you want.
Urban is driven by ego. It was the biggest job available for him to get back into coaching & he wanted it. He's not a nice guy & has lots of baggage. OSU fans making him out to be a "god" that you hire without question is silly.
