Like we don't blame firefighters attending a blaze - we shouldn't blame the nurses and doctors on duty. 👇👇👇 More... The nurses and doctors on duty can only perform as well as they are supported. If they have no beds, if they are massively overcapacity, if they are understaffed - then they have no hope in meeting any normal benchmark of acceptable medical care. If the ER is a holding area for hospital patients who are admitted but have no where to do - then the ER cannot do its core function of seeing new patients. We are sending ER nurses and doctors everyday to fight forest fires with a garden hose. It's terrible to read the devastation brought on the family of Prashant Sreekumar - but this case isn't in isolation. Others don't get media attention but they are there. This alarms ER nurses and doctors and we speak up internally in our hospitals - and change does happen, but not all of the time. Canada - your ER doctors and nurses are telling you - and this tragic case proves it - we don't have the resources for the job you have given us to do. @KirkLubimov I don't think it's necessarily the doctors' faults, but the fault of the system. It's possible that they saw 30+ patients on their shift, and that the triage system is inadequate. The doctors themselves are in a horrible situation when it comes to socialized medicine.

Pay attention to the hospital staff in this video; Not only there are no one around, considering this men should have just gotten full hands on deck emergency care but the 2 that are standing there have like zero care or empathy to the situation while the wife is pouring her heart out while her husband laying dead next to her because of nothing short of negligence. The man waited in an Edmonton hospital ER for 8 hours for care, and even had a heart beat on 210 which should have alarmed everyone there but no one cared. Every single person involved should be fired, never work in healthcare again and some of them jailed. He should every single sign that points to something catastrophic might happen. But "free healthcare". Ironically, this would have never happened to them in India.
