@BholaNath_BSF Same as Army, but in Army, they do not give NFFU, so 93% of IndiannArmy officers retire at 54 age in the rank of colonel, where as 100% of CAPF officers retire at 60 with salary of a Jt Secy. Am I correct in my assessment?

One big difference in intake of IPS officers & CAPF officers is that they take into account the number of vacancies in the rank of DsG would be falling vacant say after 25 years in each cadre, accordingly in 2027, same number of vacancies will be published & officers made to join. So they are assured of reaching DG rank, whereas in CAPF, the intake is as per the number of Asstt Comdt required in these forces. They join as languish in each rank for years. Now they can be lucky if they become Comdt!

Taxing defense disability pension of all types is unethical & unjustified. From acquiring disability attributable or aggravated to being boarded out for same. Exemption is not based on disability but mode of exit.

Raghav Chadha says a soldier guarding our borders does not calculate his sacrifice in tax slabs. He is absolutely right, because the Modi government has already ensured they do not have to. With income up to 12.75 lakh made completely tax-free, the vast majority of our serving Jawans take home their full salaries without paying a single rupee in income tax. Stop hiding the facts to push a political agenda.

When a soldier guards our borders, he does not calculate his sacrifice in tax slabs. He spends Diwali in a bunker. Eid on the border. Misses family milestones. And sometimes he loses a part of his body in service of the nation. That disability pension is not income. It is compensation for a wound carried for life. Yet under the Budget 2026 provisions, whether that pension is taxed or not depends on when the soldier retired. Not on the injury he suffered or the sacrifice he made. Two soldiers. One wound. Two tax rules. Soldier A gets injured and leaves the Army — his disability pension is tax-free. Soldier B gets injured but continues serving the nation — his disability pension will be taxed Same injury. Same sacrifice. But the one who served longer is punished more. A soldier doesn’t calculate sacrifice in tax slabs. You can tax income. You cannot tax sacrifice.
