Elijah Mobley was named Most Valuable Player of the Tony Costello Tip off Classic after the sophomore had 24 points, 5 steals, 3 rebounds and 3 assists and helped lead Las Positas to a 83-61 win over Cosumnes River. Jorren Edmonds and Mecca Okereke were named to the all tournament team as well for the Hawks.

This is an all-time stat — Miles Byrd became just the second player in Div. I over the last 10 seasons (since 2014-15) to record at least 20 points, 8 rebounds, 5 steals and 4 blocks in the same game. He’s also the first Aztec since at least 1996-97 with that stat line. 😮

Collin, let me give you a different POV. When someone is not paid enough to live, they use more government services. Housing, Care, Food, etc. I can’t tell you what the equilibrium is for a minimum wage for any given state. When I can tell you is when companies pay less than what someone needs to live a basic life, it’s often the taxpayers that subsidize the difference Do you really want to subsidize, with your tax dollars, any employer ? Personally, as an employer, I would rather pay a higher wage and figure out how to be more productive and profitable to balance it out. I literally gave raises to employees a few years ago because it was embarrassing to me that taxpayers might be subsidizing people who work for me. It’s the same reasons I kept paying everyone during COVID and I didnt take PPP money. The last thing I want is your tax dollars, Collin, subsidizing my employees The other thing about increasing the minimum wage, again, IMO, everyone else faces the same rules. Their costs go up in the same manner. Be the better entrepreneur in your segment and your business will be just fine

Congrats to @RCKnights Class of 2024 Jace Beidleman @JaceBeidleman for being named to the Cal-Hi Sports @CalHiSports 2024 All-State Boys Basketball 🏀 Team earlier this week! Jace is 1 of only 32 players in California to be recognized as an All-State player in Division 3 (the division that our Knights competed in during the CIF @CIFState NorCal playoffs) and 1 of only 144 high school basketball players to be recognized in the entire state. Jace adds this Cal-Hi Sports All-State selection to his TVL MVP, Modesto Bee All-District First Team, & Manteca Bulletin All-Area MVP awards. During this past 2023-24 season, the 6’9” Jace averaged 12.7 points, 11.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists & 4.3 blocks per game. Jace regularly notched double-doubles this season with points/rebounds & flirted with triple-doubles when counting blocked shots. Jace was an elite rim protector & blocked a school-record 132 shots during the season plus affected many more attempts. Jace also recorded 10 blocks in 1 single game at home versus Sierra HS of Tollhouse. On the offensive end, Jace was a scoring threat at all 3 levels. Jace developed a post-up game that forced double teams allowing his teammates to find open shots. Jace also had the ability to step out behind the 3-point line to knock down open 3FG’s. Jace was also a dynamic force w/ the occasional high-rising dramatic dunk off a lob pass or on the break in transition. Jace’s best performance was in the CIF Sac Joaquin Section Division 5 title 🏆 game when he registered 18 pts, 18 rebs, 7 blks & 6 asts in the 67-47 victory. Jace also scored a season-high 20 pts to go w/ 16 rebs versus Stone Ridge Chr in a road win on Jan 5th By being selected this year as a Cal-Hi Sports All-State Boys 🏀 Basketball player, Jace joins an illustrious list of former Ripon Christian High Knights’ boys players that have been named All-State over the past 30+ years. Only 8 other Knights’ boys basketball players have been named All-State over this 33 year span. Here is the complete list of Knights’ All-State Boys Basketball players over the years: 1.
