@mostserene Feels unrealistic to argue that one funding one single entity or district will result in better education services

@mostserene True but it allows for the displacement of capital expenses to debt over many years which frees up operational dollars. A quick search says the district has expenditures of almost $20,000 a child but the results don’t match the expenditures.

@edwonkkimmy Very. This is also in a period when districts were flush with cash.

Just In: TEA releases K-8 STAAR results. Declines in math, science. Meets — which is passing but not yet grade level — still sobering. #txed #txlege

@KellyRasti Privilege in either race or wealth. SAISD boundaries haven’t resulted in the racial diversity of a district the size of HISD. SAISD inequities have been wealth driven in my experience.

@KellyRasti The most prevalent example was HISD. District created multiple magnets w academic admission requirements were put in place as a way to “filter” out students and create a space for affluent white families who we opting out of district. Many examples still exist in San Antonio.

@KellyRasti @brianscobra98 I guess all is good in Northside unless your child is black or brown or part of Northside Sped for last three years

@KellyRasti You still have representation at the state not local level. Local boards have proven to be a terrible in SA. Any school receiving vouchers should have to take standardized test and have uniform enrollment policy.

@dilloncollier I am a parent. I have also heard the district uses secret messaging program to hide texts from public.
