@realBearish ya, magpul plate is in the mail. That scraping at the top is me trying a dremel and saying "fuck this" and ordering another one

@219_eth Oh yeah I got it. You could just take it off and Dremel it down but you might be better off just getting a qd plate from magpul or something similar. Than use a qd sling adapter.

@g_swedberg Its the S&W standard ar-15 model, as cheap as you can go while still getting a highly rated gun got it specifically to break and learn before I got something more expensive

@219_eth Sell it and buy a SCAR 16. Same ammo. Same mags. Way better firearm. Way easier to clean and maintain. But it's 5x the cost. Seems fair for my time/frustration.

@CAPITANdeCRYPTO it was staked, but not to bad. just got a clamp and a castle nut wench and hit it with a hammer a few times

@219_eth probably staked or loctited (or both) look closely for a dimple or stamped depression. Maybe use a dremel on the nut to relieve tension. Heat will loosen loctite. The nut is cheap so if you feel like something is going to break, let it be the nut only that needs replacing.

@BowTiedCOVID19 I want to have the skill engrained in the talent stack. Very very low chance of it mattering, but the few months of playing with it will be well worth if it ever does
