If those in authority disconnect themselves from the system, who then will connect the ordinary Nigerian to reliable power? Promoting renewable energy, as solar systems do, is commendable and necessary for the future. However, this situation reflects a deeper concern: governance lacking compassion and commitment to the governed. You cannot tell the people to fast while feasting yourself, securing yourself while Nigerians remain unsecured. Nigerians do not expect 100% fulfilment of promises, but they do expect 100% effort, accompanied by measurable improvements and clear explanations when gaps exist. I have a degree in physics, First, i have to correct you. There is nothing in the whole universe that stands still. Everything is moving including the Sun. It depends on the frame of reference. The Sun moves at a speed of 220 km/s as it orbits the center of the Milky Way. So the idea that something is “moving” or “standing still” always depends on the frame of reference. Relative to Earth, the Sun appears to move, in reality, Earth rotates. Both descriptions can be meaningful and accurate depending on context. Second, regarding the language used in Scripture: there’s a well-known concept called phenomenological language. Joshua was the reference point. The same way if you are in a car, trees are moving with respect to you. This is scientifically accurate. Frame of reference is a critical topic in physics. So, yes, in reference to Joshua, the Sun was rotating. Third, from a theological perspective: if God is truly the creator of the laws of physics, which he is, then He is not constrained by them. The same intelligence that established order in the universe would, by definition, have authority over it. What we call “miracles” are not violations in a chaotic sense, but acts that transcend our current understanding of natural law. Finally, from a physics standpoint alone, it’s not accurate to say that an extended day is “impossible.” It would require changes in rotational dynamics or reference frames, complex, yes but not logically incoherent. Physics describes how systems behave under known conditions. It does not set absolute limits on what a creator of those systems could do. So the real question isn’t whether motion exists or whether language is literal, it’s whether we’re interpreting both physics and Scripture within their proper domains.
