Imagine a developer donates 1,000 robux to a player. That player then donates it to a friend, and this happens 3 more times. That 5th player is left with 77 robux. Hazem received 230 robux, Roblox received the rest. The limits of the new transfer feature are ridiculous but lets not pretend PLS DONATE was ever about giving back to the players
hazem@haz3m_

Roblox is removing cross-game gamepass sales and forcing a $5/month requirement just to donate, with a 1,000 Robux monthly limit. This will kill PLS DONATE. PLS DONATE is built around cross-game gamepass sales, a system that’s free for players and has no limits. Removing it doesn’t just change things, it kills the game completely. I wasn’t made aware of this change before it was announced. No warning, no chance to give my input or feedback before they announce this change. I’ve been developing on this platform since I was 12 and have always loved making games on Roblox, so seeing something this impactful happen overnight without real consideration is genuinely upsetting. This means a lot to me and I’m really sad about this. The solution Roblox gave us is the Transfer API, which really isn’t a solution and still affects us heavily. It’s locked behind a $5/month subscription, capped at 1,000 Robux per month, and under-18 users require parental approval for EVERY SINGLE transaction. That completely changes the experience. If transferring Robux is going to be paid, gamepasses need to coexist. Removing them ruins everything and doesn’t stop bad actors from just purchasing through the site anyway. It doesn’t make sense. I really don’t want to build hatred toward this platform. I love Roblox and still believe in it, and if it truly cares about its developers, I’m sure there are better solutions that keep users safe without killing our game. @Roblox @DavidBaszucki

@21xeltic @Superpowamario @ItayTheRobot @Sinne_J Then just make pls donate like trade hangout, if people really wanna donate they won't have any issues with going to the website to donate, same way TH works people had to go to the website to trade but used the game to talk to each other, also do you even know what TH is?

@Superpowamario @ItayTheRobot @Sinne_J That comparison doesn’t really work. PLS DONATE isn’t just a hangout; it’s the system that displays booths, tracks donations, and brings donors in. Most donations wouldn’t happen without the game, and nobody forced anyone to use it.

@21xeltic @ItayTheRobot @Sinne_J Because hazeem shouldn't even take a profit from your profit. Merely made a trade hangout. Should he take profits from your trades because its a place to organize trades?

@KinderDev @Zenuuux @Maxxell They may not “directly” profit from the fee, but removing Robux from the economy still benefits Roblox. Less Robux circulating means people eventually need to buy more. So even if it’s not a direct sale in that moment, the sink still supports Roblox’s revenue model.

@Zenuuux @Maxxell I think it’s important to note Roblox doesn’t profit from their fees, they simply remove Robux from the economy Nobody is actually out here buying 1 million Robux with real money just to spend it in pls donate, most donations are done by developers or Robux from others

The reason Roblox is making this change is to eliminate the middleman. Hazem & Pls Donate is effectively just a middleman who takes a skim off transactions, which Roblox pays out via devex. Roblox simply thought "instead of paying someone several million dollars a year, why don't we implement our own donation tool AND bill Roblox users for it along the way?" Doesn't matter how big the game is or who made it, Roblox has no use for the game anymore. Pls Donate was made popular due to the lack of a proper Roblox feature for donations. That feature is now here. Wish the Pls Donate team the best of luck, my advice is to accept it's over and move on to new projects because I don't see Roblox adjusting this whatsoever.

@DaNiceBaconHair @Sinne_J That’s such a weird way to look at it. People donated because they wanted to, mostly to friends, creators, or randoms for fun. Nobody was forced. Calling them all beggars just makes it sound like you never understood why people played it.

@Superpowamario @ItayTheRobot @Sinne_J How is it “stolen” if people willingly used PLS DONATE? Hazem built the game, the audience, the moderation, and the donation system. Roblox taking a cut is the real issue. The new update forces subscriptions/parent links and low limits, which is worse for most players.

@Astop748006 @Sinne_J "He already makes money” doesn’t mean the 10% has no purpose. PLS DONATE needs constant updates, moderation, and support. The cut funds the donation system/community people choose to use. You can debate if 10% is too high, but it isn’t automatically pointless.

@21xeltic @Sinne_J Roblox need money to maintain their server , database, prevent illegal robux, valid reason to tax it . But why did hazem take that 10% ?? He already got money from players , ingame purchase , is the 10% tax essential?

@haz3m_ Roblox needs to rethink this before it goes live. Safety matters, but removing features that entire games and incomes depend on is not the answer. There has to be a middle ground that protects users while still letting experiences like PLS DONATE continue to exist.
