First online customer Cade Porter! He couldn’t make it to the workout this morning but still wanted to get his work in for the day. He worked out on a gravel driveway and didn’t make a single excuse. Cade is a kid that all younger players need to watch. He’s a true leader!

Fear is afraid of you. Everyone runs towards happiness but the moment when someone runs towards what they’re scared of their life changes forever. You can be scared, nervous, and fearful but you still have to get the job done at the end of the day. Get after it, stay after it!

Learn how to play off the ball. 90 % of the game is played away from the ball. Understanding aggressive defenders over playing slot drives, and wide pin downs are vital in today’s game.

Simulated contact, 1 on 1. This is a perfect way to get the feel of a defender trying bump you off your line of attack on drives. Duck the shoulder, clip the hip, and play strong through bumps 💪🏻 #basketball #mwb #work #basketballtraining #grind

The best way to get better at ball handling is dribbling full speed and going into a move. Specifically at a young age, you have to teach them that going hard has to be normal, and messing up because you’re going so hard is a NECESSITY!

The “drop spin seal” is a great misdirection dribble to move defense off your intended line of attack. In high pressure situations you never want to turn your back to the defense UNLESS IT’S INTENTIONAL. The “drop spin seal” is an intentional back to the rim dribble.

Intentional reps! Every rep has to be focused on the process, with the intention of being persistent, not perfect. Regardless if the repetition is a miss or a make the it needs to be game speed with full focus on whatever the drill is working on.

Matt Painter on accountability “Think about growing up with your parents and you got to do whatever the hell you wanted to do instead of them telling you things. Would you be sitting here? I know I wouldn’t. I’d be bowling on Tuesday in Muncie Indiana.”

We love when parents share how training has impacted their athlete’s confidence and game. Here’s, Zane Zehnder, sharing what MWB training has meant for his son Zeke! mattweirbasketball.as.me

Your first thought when attacking the rim should be to punch it or finish full speed. Your second thought should be to engage your defender and play through contact. Your third thought is read the gap defenders hands. Get to the rim and finish!
