Day to day care including ensuring proper hygiene falls on the patient party. Don't blame the nurses for that man having shitty children who couldn't be bothered to change a diaper.

@vichalhey @MMuizzu @geelaali Someone I know recently passed away at IGMH. A very old man of cancers And he couldn’t pee by himself and kept on soiling his clothes. The nurses never cleaned him.. no catheter. Every time his old wife has to clean that man.

Reading the accounts of this is distressing enough. @MMuizzu @geelaali I think it’s time to find a proper and permanent solution for this government hospital, with proper accountability.

It sounds like the child had complex medical issues as well and the parents (like so many other people) depend on STO/NSPA/Aasandha to bring medications and equipment unavailable in Maldives

Here’s my two cents: the teacher should have followed standard protocol and left the classroom to inform his superiors as soon as the student became physical, rather than confronting him. This is playbook 101 and is repeatedly drilled into teachers in the many training sessions and seminars they attend.

Laying a hand on a student is never acceptable. It’s criminal. Teachers are entrusted with authority, trust and a legal duty of care. Discipline must be firm but lawful and non violent. Once a teacher hits a student, it is no longer education, it is abuse. That’s what happened inside Addu High School today. Principal Nadeem should be ashamed of himself for trying to hide this.

@nztx0 Look, I feel like most islands aren’t that bad to live honestly now.. Most islands have good facilities specially cities. People who lived their lives in islands should keep living there. But people who migrated back in old times and dhaftharu they deserve land here.
