Black students make up 7 percent of Iowa's student population but account for 21 percent of school based arrests. A new ACLU report found Black students are arrested 3.7 times as often as their peers. Officers were even called over incidents like a 7 year old running in a hallway. These are CHILDREN! The school to prison pipeline is real and it is targeting our kids. Resources should be going toward counselors not more police in our schools.
