One of the real privileges of traveling through 33 counties in Missouri’s 6th Congressional district is meeting leaders in local communities who are doing new and inventive things to stimulate and revive their economies and businesses. The @kearney_chamber under their Executive Director, Stacie - have created a new Leadership Academy dedicated to training up the next leaders in business and community about how good government and business can work together for growth. I was honored to speak to their first academy graduates about what leaping into leadership means from my perspective. I shared a classic Teddy Roosevelt speech “The Man in the Arena” to underscore while it’s not always easy - there’s a reason not everyone does it. Congratulations graduates!

It’s governed well. It’s growing. It’s where I work. It’s where my kids have gone to school and where I attend weekly worship. Kearney, Missouri is a special place. Many of my friends and family agree and why they call it home, too. The steady leadership of Mayor Pogue is one of the big reasons why. Thank you for your endorsement, Mr. Mayor.

My brother got a dog last year. He called me during the first week and said, "Nobody told me dogs have opinions." I said everyone told him dogs have opinions. He said, "Not like this, this dog has positions on things." I asked what positions. He said, "He refuses to walk on certain streets, won’t eat before 7 a.m., and has a specific chair, if you sit in it, he just stands next to you and stares until you move." I asked what he did about the chair. He said, "I move, obviously I move, Have you seen how he stares?" I have seen how the dog stares. He’s right to move. God was smiling on us today! Two beautiful hometown traditions and Team Stigall hit ‘em both. Richmond hosted their annual Mushroom Festival Parade while St. Joe hosted their annual Apple Blossom Festival parade. A rare opportunity to shake so many hands and look potential voters in the eye and ask for their support. I’d also like to say how humbling it is to see so many people volunteer their gorgeous Saturday afternoon to walk with me and on my behalf as a candidate. I’m so profoundly grateful to have such incredible friends, family, and voters backing our efforts to August 4th. Thank you! And if I didn’t get to meet you today in Buchanan or Ray counties, I’ll be back! Parade season is underway!

North Missouri is home to some iconic history and industry - perhaps none more internationally famous than Hannibal in Marion County. Having a fantastic day meeting with county officials and business leaders both here and in Lewis County. Northeast Missouri has so much to offer - I’m listening today to learn how we can elevate their needs in Washington.

@HollyGrayle Freedom of association and freedom to not associate is protected by the First Amendment. Why wouldn’t that be applicable to allowing or disallowing immigration from certain countries?

They literally have their OWN country, David. It's not cruel or inhumane to expect them to live in it. No one has the right to just live in whichever country they want, and there's nothing wrong with saying "no, actually I don't want my country to be full of people from somewhere else because I like it the way it is."

North Missouri’s Sheriffs - like Sherrif Puett and his staff here in Buchanan County are dealing with cartel issues, human and drug smuggling at a level most of us really don’t see or hear about because law enforcement don’t complain, they serve. But they need the full resources available to keep us all safe. Closing the southern border was hugely important, but the northern border still matters and drug cartels are still thriving.

@CynicalPublius I had gallbladder surgery in March. Any fat causes diarrhea. Every food decision begins with, "Is eating this worth pooping myself?" I've lost 12 lbs.

I've discovered an excellent, no-cost, seven-step weight loss plan: 1. Have very invasive knee surgery that puts you on crutches for 4-6 weeks where you are not allowed to put any weight on one leg. 2. Go lay down in your bed with an ice machine on your knee. 3. Bring no food in the bedroom with you. 4. Get hungry. 5. Decide it's too much trouble to crutch to the kitchen to get something to eat. 6. Finally when you get really hungry go get something to eat, except not too much because eating over the sink on crutches kinda sucks. 7. Profit.

I'm 66 as well. Do like I did. Find the oldest, gnarliest, grumpiest, most burnt out old bastard of a doctor you can find. He might not be worth a shit as a doc, but the two of us compensate for that by having the best old man bitch sessions you can possibly imagine. And with that, his level and my level of "give AF" makes for a pretty good combination when it comes to the government / big pharma scams that are going to kill us all.

So, I went on Medicare last year. I haven't seen a doctor in 4 years. Tomorrow I am "establishing" a doctor for Medicare purposes. Any advice for a 66-year-old guy who doesn't "trust" medical doctors anymore (since 2020 crap?)
